G 20 Hunter Holster

I picked up a Hunter 5003 thumb break holster from Midway USA. I have been using the Glock combat holster that came with my 10 mm as a gift. Not a bad holster but I didn't like the gun being exposed and the fact that I work with it on 7 days a week. I wanted the thumb break high ride for a couple reasons.

One time I sat down in the truck and my gun popped up in the Glock holster and didn't know it until I got out of the truck and felt a strange wobble pushed down and well.... I think I was lucky.

I liked the idea of the whole pistol covered from getting banged up

This Hunter fit my G20 perfect from the get go. The thumb bread has a small metal plate making it a snap hehehe... Really it is automatic anyway my thumb is right there when drawing my pistol all one smooth motion for me. The Holster fits very tight against my body rides perfect where I like it. very easy to cover just pulling out my shirt should I go into town

Anyway I got this one but all they had in stock was brown.. I took it to my buddies leather shop, a little surface prep two coats of black leather dye I got what i wanted.

Nice holster,
Ive thought about getting an outside the waist band but don't want to have to feed the belt through, it's so much easier to put an inside Inside the waist holster that's clips to my belt. I will have to say it loos comfortable. Might have to reconsider.

Will Long slide pass thru?

The end is open but the leather is some what crimped in at the end, not like it stops the gun. My standard G20 stops just short of the end of the holster. Would be very tight for a long slide

This holster was the last one at Midway USA I had to buy it was what I wanted and was discounted. The only problem it was brown well sheen was removed, two coats of leather dye took care of that. A couple weeks later now I have to say this is a very smooth holster. Plain. simple, covered, thumb snap w/ metal plate backing for very fast snap, as soon as my thumb hits the snap draw begins. Just saying, it is a great holster if you like leather and your gun protected. cheap too. I paid $45
