Antibiotic Package Content

Some time ago, on the thread about the "Basic" antibiotic package, I said I would post the contents. Sorry for the delay, as I've been on the road quite a bit. The contents are:

Amoxicillen 500mg, 30 capsules
Cephalexin 500 mg, 14 capsules
Doxycycline 500 mg, 20 capsules
SMZ/TMP 800/160 mg, 40 Tablets
Pennacillin V Potassium 500 mg, 27 Tablets

*Includes 9 pages of instructions for different situations such as Urinary Tract Infections etc.etc.

Overall I'm pleased with the package and grateful that someone is supplying this item. Others may be of a different opinion. I'm in no way saying this is a substitute for Professional Care, or Doctors when they are available. On the other hand, those in the aftermath of the tragedy in Haiti might think something like this a Godsend. Take care and have a great day.

Thanks for posting that. I am not trained in medicine. My doctor gave me a script for 500 mg Cephalexin to be used for infection due to animal bites or serious injuries in the event medical treatment was not available. He prescribed taking the 500 mg tablet 4x per day for 10 days - 40 pills total. I'm wondering in the literature that came with your medication what suggested dosage was given. My doctor may have been prescribing the maximum dosage, I really don't know.
