How do you like it? How does it run? How does it compare to others. Specifically thinking about the T model. Do these have Chrome-lined bores too?

I had a M&P15OR it isn't a T but it is Chrome-lined. the only M&P rifle that isn't chrome lined is the Sport to my knowledge.

I liked it while I had it. it would feed everything from federal, Israeli surplus, and wolf. It was a great AR and if I found a good price on another one i'd buy it

I had one and I sold it. I replaced it with a Rock River Arms coyote with a 16" barrel. The RRA is more accurate, less money, and has a better trigger. I got the RRA and never looked back.

I have one.

They run fine. Hard use capable. It's not a Colt, but they shoot well, hit where they're supposed to (even Colts aren't more than 2-3 MOA guns by government standards) and gets it done.

If you find one for a steal, go for it, otherwise, find a Colt/BCM/LaRue/etc if the price is similar.

I have the "X" model. I like it and it does everything I want it to do.

I have an M&P 15 M.O.E. edition. I like it it's fairly light, plenty accurate for me, and I got it in a way I could afford it. I am very happy with it. And it is chrome lined.

Here you go. Smith is on the bottom. Its my only "tricked out" AR, the mods are real basic. Guntec USA rail, Magpul vert grip, viking light mount with a Surefire G2, Magpul flip up rear site, it now has an Ergo grip and a magpul MOE buttstock. Oh and ladder rail covers. I like it a lot. Next range trip I am going to test out both the H and the H2 buffer I bought because it does kick brass out hard. Vortex strikefire red dot. I keep forgetting stuff.........BCM gunfighter charging handle, love them.

I had a M&P15 and really liked it alot. Thought I might want to get out of the AR scene and stupdly traded it off, but as soon as I did I wanted another one. Started to go M&P again, but got a great deal on a brand new RRA. The M&P is a great gun.

Once I put the scraps together for a 14.5 inch PSA, I am going to put all the bells and whistles on it and put my Smith back stock. I love the simplicity of a bone stock AR15. This is what the M&P15 looked like for quite a while. I like the fixed A2 stock because I used to take it coyote hunting. When I called for other hunters I always had it to cover the fast hard chargers that came in close. Not the best pic.

I have an M/P 15 and a M/P .22.

First, the gas block on the M/P 15/M4 (flat top) is too tall for the Pro Mag site I installed. I ended up getting another gas block and new grips with picatinny rails to install Magpul sights. I also have a Truglo optical sight that I need to zero.

The M/P .22 is a blast! I also bought Magpul sights for it as well but haven't installed them yet.

Both have eaten everything they've been fed.

picked up a new M&P15T for $900 right before the current president got elected. has run thousands of rounds all these years with no issues.

the rail was just too much for me since i didn't stick anything on it except a grip.

i am currently building a midlength ar from a Palmetta State Armory kit.

Another question, these M&Ps have removable flash hiders right? just wondering because some of their barrels looked different, i didnt know if they would have a pinned and welded flash hider or one that is just part of the barrel.

I have one... not sure which one it is. Has the rails up front and A2 FSB so I put on my own NM rear sight and changed out the stock. It's not the MOE. Trigger feels heavier than my other AR's but then again, this has never been fired so maybe the trigger hasn't broken in yet.

Keep in mind, there are two different rifles that sport the lable of M&P15T. The one above (what I own) has a chrome lined/M4 profile barrel, Troy Industries quad-rail and BUISs. The one below has a Melonited barrel, no M4 profile on the barrel, Magpul sights, and a no-name quad-rail.

If you're going to order one, be certain of which one you're getting.

Yep. Better sights, rails and different barrel.

$550.00 list price difference on S&W web-site. What that would mean at the retail level, I'm not sure.

Remember, that number came from S&Ws web-site, which has their list, or M.S.R.P., not what you'd pay at a retailor.

I'm trying to decide whether to get a stanard model with a removeable carry handle and shoot that till i want a new rail and an optic. but id have to replace the darn gas block, would you replace it or just cut the A2 down?:dunno:

My answer (some here will go ape-poop over it) is that I've never wanted an FSB. I don't like iron sights (I use an Eotech) and I like the Troy BUISs that came on my rifle, I'd never buy an AR that had a FSB.

But to answer your question (as best as I can), I'd just saw off/file down the FSB and get a rail that fits over it.

But that's just my opinion.

$550? New? Ugh...That's like what my Del-Ton upper kit cost me, not to mention wait time...
...Oh yeah, and the $190 I spent on the S&W M&P striped lower (it looks great BTW).

E: OH, price difference. Good.

My wallet hurts every time I see new rifle prices. I have no idea why my AR obsession had to begin in the Spring of 2007 :(...

I have a good friend who's had a M&P15T for a number of years and loves it. It was actually the rifle that convinced me NOT to cancel my Del-Ton order/wait. The Troy rail and sights are really top-notch; extremely solid. I actually haven't shot that rifle, but I hear very good things.

I ordered the standard model, the others didn't exist yet.

As I was used to staring at a front sight through an M68, staring at it through a H-1 doesn't really bother me.

Just to add;

My M&P15T has been completely trouble free, and like most ARs, pretty damn accurate (popping pieces of previously shot clay pigeons at 50 yards with an Eotech, off-hand.)

If you are military make sure you look at Buds Police Supply. I purchased mine from there and also got a $100 rebate from S&W along with the awesome Nation's Finest coin to add to my collection

I got the OR version for my first AR. Round count is about 700 now without an issue, shooting mostly cheap Russian stuff, and I have been only lightly cleaning/oiling it.

I probably have almost as much money into accessories as I do into the gun itself at this point (I paid just under $700 for the gun).

I have 2 Optics Ready models. Both are great, with no issues whatsoever. One is tricked out, and the other is pretty much stock. My Halo sees equal use with both of them.

Yes, on my S&W M4 anyway. To replace the gas block I had to unscrew the flash suppressor and it came right off. Thought this was going to be the most difficult piece, but it came right off. Plenty of Youtube videos out there on how to remove it.

M&P15OR, eats everything it's been fed. It only feeds on reloads now-a-days. Puts the round where ever it's pointed. Probably 7000 rounds down range and not a problem yet.

I have the PS model that I did a little trigger work to and added a rail/scope/optic. I've mounted a reflex sight on it and done CQB training and in its' current setup, I've been doing a little distance shooting with it. It runs awesome and I only use Silver Bear and Brown Bear ammo---0 issues through about 800 rounds. It gets the best groups with 62gr ammo (about 2'' at 100 meters). I'd certainly get another one if I was in the AR market.
