View Full Version : Almost 60 and Still a Soldier
Did anyone catch this today? What an amazing story and IMHO, what a true hero.......:patriot:.....Damn Allergies.....:whistling:
Oh I definitely salute him.
Aging sucks. But this guy, inspired by 9/11, re-enlists and serves his country in combat zones multiple times, alongside guys and gals one-third to half his age.
The Fist Of Goodness
Wow! Sgt. Nicholas looks like he is in phenomenal shape. If they didn't say his age, I would have thought he was at most in his mid 40s.
Reminds me of the book "Hunting The Jackal" by Billy Waugh, who retired from Special Forces in the early 80s, and the contracted out to the CIA for another couple decades, including working in Afghanistan in 2001 after 9-11 when he was in his 70s.
That man is harder than a coffin nail! Truly inspiring! :patriot:
Kudos to him for serving. I noticed it said trained podiatrist. Maybe he could get on with the US Army under civilian contract if they don't award a commission to him.
He is a GOOD MAN.
Too many citizens are afraid of Military service and the thought of being hurt, only for your fellow man and Country.
Not to take anything away from him.
However, this is a fine story as well.
Col. Gordon Ray Roberts MOH. Before Sgt Giunta was awarded the MOH, Col. Roberts was the only person in the Military with the MOH. He was enlisted in Vietnam. After Vietnam, had a civilian career, retired and returned to the Army.
