you get one gun out of your current arsenal.

I am gonna have to go with the 870 supermag, I can use it HD, I can hunt anything that I need small or large. Downside is you won't have a CC.

What say you?

Remington 1100 in the guage of 12 with a scope.
Oddly enough it's the ONE gun I have that I haven't shot in over 15 years.
It's the only gun I have that I exempt from my "shoot it or sell it to someone who will" rule...simply because it's my dad's old deer gun.

But of all the firesticks in the kit, it's by far the most versitile and powerful. Squirrel at 10 yards to moose at 100 yards. She's taken both.

Rem 870. Because of the interchangeable barrels.

Sentiment strictly: S&W model 10.
Practical reasons: Remington 870.

Would be tricky for me to only have one gun. Hypothetically it would have to be my P226, as it is my duty gun.

I would have to carry it off-duty as well, which is not ideal but could be done.

My favorite is my Beretta Cougar. My 12g and AK could do the most damage. Wife's LCP is the easiest to CC. But my G26 is the most practical compromise so it would most likely be it.

Remington 870 pretty much with the barrels got everything covered out to 125-150 yards or less.

Yes!

Well, if I had to it would be a choice between my G-17 and SGL-31 (AK-74).

One gun. I assume this really means one single gun... not a receiver with a bunch of barrels, etc. So... it's be my S&W 18-3. Don't even have to think about it. There are others I enjoy... that are more effective for different things, etc. I'd deeply grieve not having my beloved 03/03-A3 and M-1 rifles. But if it really did come down to one and only one gun... I'd pick up my 18-3 and walk away.

I prefer to use the term collection, instead of arsenal. Arsenal is a word often used by an anti-gun press, when some poor schmuck gets arrested and the cops find a couple rifles and a couple handguns, along with a few hundred rounds of ammo in his house.

Meanwhile, I only have one weapon, a 1911. (wink-wink, nod-nod)

I would have an AR-15 lower, that would be the "gun" according to the government, and I would swap out uppers and other parts to make all sorts of weapons, including "pistols" in various chamberings.

Gonna have to go with a 12 ga. or any reliable confiburation, but preferrably a Rem 870, Browning BPS, or Win 1300... I'd really like to throw in a nice semi-auto .22lr also...

If only one then I would agree with the 870.
I rescued one from a Pawn Shop that I paid $150 for.
I tore it apart completely, refinished the wood, applied some crest to the action and cycled it 200 times and then cleaned the heck out of it. It took forever to get the rem-choke to break loose, but with an oil soak and a heat gun it finally did. The forestocks pump action was sloppy and loose, so I filled it with epoxy to tighten the whole thing up.
Bought a slug barrel and added ten round extention I had in a drawer and it would seem to be a pretty handy shotgun.
It is a compromise, but I only have $250 in it. If I could have any gun it would be a over under drilling with 12 gauge over .223.
Now that would be very handy.

Are you kidding?
That's like Obama gets re elected!
A total nightmare! End of the world!

Ok, Obamanation occurs and it's like the Walking Dead in a few years.

I guess my one of seven pick would be my Talo EXO G27.
40 is kind of like the new 9mm, should be lots of ammo around.
The Fail Zero Nickel Boron finish runs without lubrication for 15,000 rounds.
I've got 3/9 round, 2/15 round and 3/22 round 40 mags.
A G33/357 barrel plus 1 G33/9 and 2 G31/15 mags.

This thread making me think I need to
get a 9mm conversion barrel and some 9mm mags - LOL!

I'd keep my U.S Stratocaster and my G.20 for which I would load about 2000 rounds before I head into battle. My Strat would be hanging on its strap behind my back.

Totally realistic, just like the notion of shtf.

Pardon the hi-jack fell's... I bought a Model 29 Classic full underlug many years ago and I love it, but I wish I had gone this route... Beautiful gun to look at, hold and shoot... The premium .44 mag IMO...

Out of what I own right now, the one gun I'd keep if I had to sell the others would be my 6906: accurate, fun to shoot, compact enough for EDC with the stock grips, good capacity for HD or carry...it's a winner.

Teecher45
11-25-2011, 21:21
I'll take my 27. It would be hard to CC my 6920, a hunting rifle, or 870, and I like to CC.
I'll fill my game bag with my bows and crossbow.
If this is some sort of government regulation doesn't that mean my wife gets one gun too. If so she would be allowed to keep my 870.

My Sig P239, accurate, easily concealable, but still holds 7+1 rounds of .40.

Got to say without a Doubt my New Remington 870 Tac. Digital Camo, and it also Shoots the New 3 1/2 Magnum with a Simmons Scope. Yep that will do it.

This is a tough one. I like my S&W model 60 (.357/.38) because it's a handy CCW gun. However, it's only got a 2" barrel and you couldn't use for anything much besides CCW and plinking. My shotgun is an over under one, so it doesn't have the versatility of a remington 870 or a mossberg 590. plus it's pretty heavy (two barrels vs. one).

If I had to pick one from my current collection, it would probably be my Winchester Trapper in 44 magnum (16" barrel). It's compact and handy out to 100+ yards. It could be used for hunting and for self defense if needed. It's also pretty durable and easy to maintain.

If I didn't take the Trapper, I might take my Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag. It's powerful, accurate, and could be used for hunting and also if needed for CCW (if you have a big enough coat to cover it!). It weighs a ton, though. I think I'd be better off with the Trapper.

Damn just one huh? Well... I'd have to say my AR. Ammo is relatively plentiful, 30 round mags, good for close up and moderate distance... Now when I get my new KSG and put it thru the ringer... It might take first place if it works well...

I would go with my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 magnum.

WarEagle32
02-01-2012, 22:28
It would most likely be my 10/22. Followed by my AK! One gun I don't think it should even be close that the 22 is what we should all go with being there are no stipulations involved. If there were more conditions I might change my pick. But just one gun I'll take my 22 and the thousands of rounds I will always have for it. Ammo availability is the most important thing when it comes down to it.

I'd go with an AR m4 or midlength platform, I would also want a .22 conversion kit to go with it.
