I will be driving to Houston next week from New Orleans. I will be carrying two firearms and one will be in my bags. Any different laws? Does the one in my luggage have to be locked? Thanks

Jensen,
Louisianan gun laws are more strict than Texas. If you have a Louisiana CCW then you are good in Texas. If not, keep it concealed in the car (it's legal.)
But yes, check out http://www.handgunlaw.us/

Forgot about that site. Thank you. I am a CHP holder in LA.
If you are a Louisiana CCW, I believe Texas reciprocates. However you have to follow Texas laws.

ETA: My wife and I travel by car quite a bit, and I use this site to plan my route and familiarize myself with the laws of each state I plan to travel to/through. (I hate it because I have to add 3-4 hours of travel time to circumvent Illinois.)
As already stated, TX reciprocates. Even if they didn't, it's legal to carry in the car as long as it's concealed. the gun can be loaded and in your reach. a direct link to the TX DPS rules re: handgun laws is:

Have a safe trip.
