Guy's, I've been looking at a double barrels for My Dad to use at home... The two that I've been looking @ online are the Spartan by Remington and of course the Stoeger Coach... We've had a Stevens double that I loved for plinking and small game hunting, but it had a double trigger which is OK but not my preference for an emergency situation... I still have an Ithaca SXS that is a single trigger, and that is way better IMO... Here's the question, what is the reliability record of the single trigger SXS in the Spartan and Stoegers in the $300-$400 range... Thanks..

I vote for 2 triggers, in case of trigger failure.

I also prefer TTN hammered SxS, because you can leave them loaded forever without spring tension, and since you cock the hammers to shoot, there is no need for a safety.
Hammered doubles are much easier to open, reload, and close due to the absence of spring tension opposing such action. Style points also.

It's simple, it's loaded, just cock to shoot. Two for sure.
