Get a complete upper receiver instead of stripped. Cheaper than getting stripped and buying the forward assist and ejection cover.

You could easily buy a Colt or other quality factory rifle for less than you're gonna tie up in that.

will it come with a aftermarket stock, grip, sights, free float handguard, midlength gas system, light weight barrel under 1200? i realize a colt 6920 is under 1k.. but i dont want a carbine length weapon ive had one already

The only thing I would do differently, is buy a different barrel.

Is there a reason ?

Im thinking of doing the same here.

Get what I want from the get go, instead of buying a AR,, then paying more for add ons you want.

I have a few questions to add to this build............

Can you simply buy a complete upper and lower,,,stock and sights and your set?

Also what the difference between 1/7 and 1/9 twist? And whats the big deal about midlength now? If they all come out to 16"s?

And I kinda want front and rear flip up sights,, have seen a ton of AR's with the A built in front sight,, what the advantage of these over filp ups?

I started looking at Panthers, Bushmasters, M&P.

Then got pointed in the direction of Rock River, BCM, Spikes.

I seen a few how I would like mine set up,, and What I want is a light wieght tight package,, with a surefire light.

Get it done right once and have a good quality AR thats going to last!

Thanks. and good luck on your build!!!!

The 1/7 will stabalize a heavier bullet vs the 1/9 , The gas system on the middy just seems softer shooting to me and also if you go with fixed front sight you have more rail/handroom

And I kinda want front and rear flip up sights,, have seen a ton of AR's with the A built in front sight,, what the advantage of these over filp ups?
IMHO totally up to you.. preferance

Sounds like the making of a great rifle. I would suggest just getting a complete BCM upper and save yourself some hassle. I am not a brand whore but I suspect BCM barrels are better than PSA. Save a extra couple hundred and your good to go.

While building an AR is fun and educational, these days you don't save a whole lot of money doing it. Figure out exactly what you want and then price it out before you start.

The complete bcm upper is more expensive
