Gentlemen

I would like to upgrade the bolt carrier group on my CMMG M4 LE upper, and I would like some input on what to get. I have been looking at BCM, DD, LMT, and Wilson Combat and cannot decide which to get. :dunno:

I know they are all good, and much better than what is in my CMMG, but is which is best and the best value?

Help me make a choice! :wavey:

All 4 of those brands are top of the line bolt carrier groups, they would make fantastic upgrades. The best value is Palmetto state armory's bolt carrier group for 99 dollars right now. Its got all the specs as the 4 you mentioned. Carpenter steel, MP tested........ There a newer company but I have had great experience with an upper from them and just ordered one of there carrier groups.

Any of the big brands is fine. The Spikes NiB is a good choice as well. I have a FZ NiB BCG and will never have another that isn't coated. I've got a DD BCG that I need to send off to WMD to have coated. DD, BCM, LMT, etc are all fine choices.

Shoot the one you got. Take the $100 dollars a new BCG cost and buy ammo.

I see no reason to swap out the entire BCG. Make sure your gas key is properly staked and just buy another bolt.

Thanks for the input fellows, just wanted to see what yall had to say.

I went ahead and ordered a BCM auto bolt carrier group while they are still on sale along with a gunfighter charging handle. My first AR build will be almost finally done!

Similar question from a newb:
My MP15 was in storage for a while, noticed my BCG feels a little rough, maybe slight pitting? Is this cause for concern (purchasing a new one) or am I fine to continue with my ~1,000 rounds per year through it as long as I'm cleaning the hell out of it?
