Suppressor service?

Zak, I have purchased a used suppressor that I would like to send in for service. I know I can personally send it back to the manufacturer without any transfers once it's in my possession. My question is, can I send it back to get serviced while it's still at my dealer awaiting paperwork? If not, can I wait to start paperwork and have them send it back while it's still technically theirs? Basically I would like to get the service done before I actually take it home in six months.
