I may be shopping for a 16" upper soon.
What are some good choices right now for a good price? I do not want a DPMS level upper.
I need places to buy too. :wavey:
Palmetto state armory. 379 for a 4150 grade steel M4 16" upper with included bolt carrier group. Their 16" hammer forged upper is 449. Solid uppers.
BCM. 399 for the upper, tack on another 130 for a bolt carrier. They make high quality stuff.
Those would be my first two choices. Daniel Defense is high end as well as LMT.
Price range and use might be helpful.
I just did a budget AR with an upper built by JSE Surplus and love it. I was shocked at how accurate it is; but I believe they use DPMS components for it.
Since you did not give any price or details as to what you want on the upper, brands I would look at in no particular order of quality and price:
BCM
DD
LMT
Colt
PSA
Spikes
Centurion
Noveske
I usually piece my own together from parts though.

If I was in the market..... I'd go with the PSA HFB for $449.

I agree with you.

Go Colt, BCM, or Daniel Defense. Similar pricing to the low end commercial grade uppers such as DPMS, PSA, RRA, Stag, Bushmaster, etc., but a true miltary grade, reliable, piece of equipment.
