Just received word from some colleagues of the death of a police officer in an adjoining county.

Officer Steve Smith was off duty and riding along with a co-worker and while assisting on a call was shot in the chest with a shotgun.

Suspect is in custody at this time but Officer Smith succumbed to his wounds.

He was not wearing his armor and off duty so the family will probably be screwed over.

Pray for this officer and his family.

ETA: The officer is not deceased. He was shot at close range with a shotgun in the arm and upper chest. As of this mrning he survived surgery and is stable.

Please keep praying.

Just came home and heard about this myself...I'm hearing that Glasgow officer was shot in the arm responding to a burglary call. He is in surgery but expected to be ok. A suspect is in custody. Some reports are of a second person being shot, but that may be incorrect.

Prayers sent for our wounded brother.

Be careful out their guys...seems like the Christmas silly season is in full swing.
