Crushing A-Merc brass is the best thing.

Damn stuff gets mixed with other brass and then jams up the gun.

I have never had good luck reloading AMERC brass. In fact, its worse than not good luck.

I have had great luck with Amerc brass.

It simply goes in the bucket and the salvage yard pays me.

And doing that gets it out of the food chain so nobody else has to deal with it.

I know Federal had some weak brass issues with .40 way back...but you still don't trust it / consider it usable brass?

FC .40 brass hasn't been made in a long time, I don't trust it.

FEDERAL .40 brass is current, I use it all the time.

Amerc is self-limiting. It won't hold a primer or a bullet.

I wasn't aware they'd retired the FC headstamp. Is that just for .40, or other calibers as well? I still find (and load) FC 9mm IIRC.

BTW...even A-MERC brass has uses. Doesn't everyone keep a few pieces of brass for each caliber they load, to be used only as powder measure brass when adjusting/verifying the powder charge? I don't see why the A-MERC brass couldn't be used for that...but yeah, if you find much of it, it's probably best sent off for recycling.

See, that's the trouble with young'uns nowadays, wasteful, wasteful, wasteful, too much of everything so just throw it away if it isn't perfect.

Why I remember back when we had to trudge through four-feet of snow, up-hill, both ways just going to and from school if we found four spent .22 casings we'd weld 'em together just to make one .38 case. Then we'd use that to make a head shot from three-hundred yards to kill a moose which would feed the family of eighteen for almost two weeks.

And it's not easy dragging a moose back home on a snow sled with a broken runner, let me tell ya.

Wasteful people, wasteful, wasteful, wasteful.
