I am going to order 1000 rounds of range ammo at the end of the week and am considering Remington UMC Target ammo with nickel cases. Anybody gave any experience with it? Or would I be better off spending a little more money and get Speer Lawman or American Eagle?

I ordered the same thing you're looking at. I'll always take nickel when I can get it, especially for $12.50/50 in .40S&W. Buy with confidence.

I like nickel cases as well but I know UMC is not the stoutest ammo available and when I am breaking in my G26 Gen4 I want to make sure that I will not have any issues.

That's a good buy.

The price is right but is it quality ammo?

Should I pay a little more for the Lawman or American Eagle?

UMC is good ammo. But if you want something a little warmer and stouter, you might want to check out this deal...

Yeah, I'd go with the Sellier & Bellot every time over the Remington. Remington from what I recall leaves a lot of residue and the S&B is loaded hotter, closer to premium JHP self-defense ammo.

UMC is good. I am working on a case of Sellier & Bellot right now.

UMC is the weakest 9mm ammo I've ever used. It cycled ok in everything I have but the feel was too far off from what I prefer.

What do you think of the ammo? I just ordered 1000 rounds also.

I am giving this a go. I have had good experiences with their bulk brass 40.

I never ordered any. My buddy and I are going to order the Lawman or American Eagle at the end of next week.

I love UMC ammo. It is now my favorite range ammo. I've shot S&B, WWB, Federal, PMC, Blazer, etc, through my G22 but UMC is the best IMO. I've already shot 500+ rounds of this ammo and it performs flawlessly (I can't say the same for other brands) and shoots comfortably and accurately. Love it! I just bought 1,000 more rounds of .40 at sgammo.

But, shhh. Sgammo is my secret and I don't want everyone buying up all their stock of ammo.

Uhhh, oops.

If you want something a bit snappier than UMC in 115, S&B is a good option: http://www.surplusammo.com/9mm-115-grain-fmj-sellier-bellot-1000-rounds/

The primers are a little hard for reduced-power striker springs, but they run fine with the OE spring.
