In shorts, MickeyTown was a bit chilly yesterday evening. By the time I arrived back home at midnight, shorts outside felt very good while unloading the truck.

Today was my first day of Christmas break. We got up early and drove 1 hour to the local mountains (Laguna) to let the kids play in the snow, something they don't get to see all that often.

I have never in my life seen so much snow. There was over 18" of fresh powder, in San Diego :wow: I could hardly walk. The most snow I've ever seen was maybe 3" deep. The kids had a great time.

The boy is now 3 years old and the girl is 8 months.

At least we got our first snow out of the way weeks ago so all of the Cali and Texas transplants are done wrecking their cars for the time being.

It's an hour east of the city of San Diego, not the county.

The county of San Diego is everything from Mexico to Riverside to Imperial Valley. When we drive to the desert we enter Imperial Valley.

And the pictures I took were off Sunrise Highway. I was about 45 miles from Julian.

There is a branch of the San Diego County library in Julian, and it is patroled by the San Diego County Sheriff. Similarly, if one was in front of the Empire State Building and wanted to do research at the local library, they would use the New York City Public Library. NYPD provides LE services to the Empire State Bulding.
