I just recieved this, and from the little bit of searching i've done, it seems to have a little history. Was wondering if anyone here knew anymore about it or what is worth as I don't have much need for it?

Winchester Model 12, 28" barrel, 20ga, serial #13962XX

Impossible to say without the condition and specific model# Could be $250. Could be $800 or anyhwere in between. There are dozens of variations on the Model 12...plain stock, checkered stock, vent rib, plain barrel etc.

I'll buy it from you, if you wish to sell.

I doubt anyone can tell you with out seeing it. As Big Bird said the range is to wide. It looks like a standard type Model 12 and a guess would be in the $400 to $800 range depending on the condition as the 20ga is worth more then the 12 and 16.

Bottom line is that it is worth what someone is willing to pay so decide the least you would take for it then put it up for auction with a starting bid at that price if you are not intending to keep it.

from doing a little research on the blue book it looks like your model 12 was made around 1953.its worth pushes the 800 mark if 100% like the others have said above.i also would be interested if your selling however my funds will only allow me to offer up to the 450 range.

Condition is pretty good, just minor wear and tear that one would expect a gun to incur over the years, but nothing major that stands out whatsoever.

Grady, where did you get that info if you dont mind me asking? I think I will probably sell it as I don't do any bird hunting or anything of the sort, but I will probably try to get close to the actual value while also making a quick sale.

tdoom i got the info from the blue book of gun values by s.p. fjestad.there are several editions as time and values advance.they have winchester and others serial#s listed in this book as reference as to when it or the manufacture dates are.i bought mine at the local gun show however they are readily available through gun magazines if you'll look for the literature ads.i would highly recommend if your a collector or do a little wheeling dealing with firearms.
