News reporting leg...conflicting reports right now. Too busy to make calls, I'm not on duty yet. Bunch of crap right now...I just hope I'm not going to a funeral.

From this news report in the Louisville Courier- Journal, it appears that the officers' injuries are relatively minor, but the story is still developing and the details are thin. Here's to hoping that this early report is accurate... for once.

All is well. One officer shot in face, but just a graze. Lieutenant was other officer, he caught glass fragments. Was told weapon was AK variant, so if need proof of a higher being....this is it. God was watching the officers. The officer that took the graze used to work here, but I didn't know him - prior to my time, I guess.

Perp is 10-0?

10-80 for us, but yeah...he's no longer amongst the upright and breathing. Self inflicted, from what I understand. Just saves ammo, in my opinion.

Local news just reported that shooter fired at officers with a shotgun. One officer was shot in the face (grazed) and is still in the hospital but is expected to be OK. Other officer was injured by flying glass from his cruiser being shot. He was treated and released. They also said shooter took his own life. His body was found in his vehicle. No other details at this time. Another reminder of the dangers out there. Stay safe. This shooting happened in the exact area I used to work. Retired in 2008.

Local news got it wrong, from what folks I know say. 7.62 variant. Ill go with officers vs media any day. He did kill himself, though.

Imagine that, media getting something wrong. Thanks for the correction. My $$ is that your sources are correct. Stay safe out there.

Turns out I know the shooter pretty well. He was "supposed" to be in prison on a murder - guess he got paroled. He was a shooting suspect when all this popped off. Who'd have thunk it...a convicted murderer out of prison, shooting more people.

He's dead now, and that's what counts.

Gotta love the criminal justice "reform" legislation that went through this past year.....
