View Full Version : which bullet
OK as you all ready know I am new so which bullet do you all recommend for target practice with glock 23 in either 165 or 180 weight , then guess next choice going to be powder ,
For the best prices on FMJ bullets try: http://www.precisiondelta.com
For plated bullets try: http://www.tjconevera.com
For powder I would start with Wichester WSF, Unique, or Power Pistol. All of these powders will work fine in the .40 and will fill your case enough that you won't have a problem with double charges.
DOesn't really matter. Many will shoot the 165gr to save a few pennies. Either will be accurate running over WSF or Unique for midrange to factory vel levels.
I use Montana Gold 180JHP over 5.2 Win 231 thru both G23 and G35. I am very satisfied with my results. The weapons are more accurate than I am! Hope that helps.
Given using the same (mid-burn) powder like WSF... I prefer 165g for game guns and paper punching practice, 180g for simulated SD loads with 4 inch or longer barrel guns.
Pick one, any one and then pick a common midspeed powder with good load data from the manufacture and the resources you own. So basically start with your load manual and find the powder and then pick a bullet that is the same style. Having that match is more important for a newbie then anything else.
