Money on two 2012 Dan Wesson PM9 + one black Valor

Friend & I were crossing things off the shopping list around town today when we stopped in a local gun shop. Owner's a good honest guy who has always made right, been in business many decades, often tries to match online prices. Sometimes will do a loss leader to get repeat customers & volume. Got to talking about the 2011 PM9 I purchased, and was told the unchanged 2012 was due around May.

Long story short: dealer said he's getting two DW PM9, and my friend put 10% down on both. Obviously taking a loss leader on both 9mm because he sold them along with a NIB 2011 black Valor for the price of the stainless. Total for all three was $3550! Valor came home tonight.....we'll see if the PM9s materialize, but seeing as how this shop ain't fly by night I'm betting they will. So the wait begins.

Since the dealer was making deals I asked if he had any leftover Rock River Arms 1911, ha. Not a chance.

If you're itchin' to get a PM9 in 2012 I'd contact your dealer. In 2011 supposedly 50 were made. No clue how many 2012 has in store.

There are no more Rock River 1911s being produced. I did hear rumors of
a few being made after they "stopped" production.

DW has said they plan to build 200 PM9s in 2012.

Oh, I know. That was kind of a tongue-in-cheek since some of the regulars here have been reading about my RRA search for a year and drooling over their photos. FFL dealers can order the few remaining RRA 1911.....for $2500 their price before adding markup to customers.

I keep searching for RRA deals in shops like the dream of finding an original AC Shelby Cobra in some widower's barn and she doesn't know what it is and lets it go for the price of "getting that old convertible out of my chicken coop."

Good luck with that AC Cobra pipe dream. :supergrin: You'll find 100 RRA's before that Cobra dream comes true. Would be the biggest steal of a deal in the history of the world though. :cool:

DW PM9 is the best. I own several 1911s (DW, Colt, SA) in 45acp, 10mm but the PM9 is real fun to shoot, accurate and reliable.
