Sights:

I have been in the market for a set of new sights for my Nighthawk Enforcer... The factory sights were Heinie Slantpro Straight Eight Night Sights (Novak cut). I was fine with the sight picture of the straight eight tritium dots, but the rear sight opening was only 0.125" wide, and the front sight had lost the white ring.

I was searching for something that had a 0.140" or 0.156" rear sight notch, and had easy to see colored or white outlines around the tritium dot of at least the front sight. I also wanted a ledge profile for cosmetic reasons, and the snowball chance in hell that I would need to manipulate the slide with one hand someday.

I considered the Heinie Ledge offering... they are available in straight eight or 3 dot configuration, and with the wider rear notch. They do not have a white outline however, and I did want this. I also considered a 10-8 rear, and perhaps an XS front...

I was intrigued by the Trijicon HD night sight offering. I found NO information online about these... They are for sale on MidwayUSA, but not even listed on the Trijicon website. I took a chance and ordered a set.

The sights are all steel, with a blued/black finish. The rear sight face is serrated, and has 2 tritium dots recessed into the rear sight, with NO outline. The rear sight has a U notch. Front sight has a large tritium dot surrounded by a yellow ring, and the whole dot profile is sealed with some kind of chemical.

The sight picture is VERY fast to acquire and easy to use. I really like it.

Regarding the sight dimensions, this is particularly something that has no information available online. The rear sight is 0.355" high. Rear U notch is 0.156" wide. Front sight is 0.215" high, and 0.145" wide.

My stock sights were 0.325" and 0.190" high respectively. I am hopeful that these will maintain a relative POA/POI. I may have to move from a 6 o'clock hold to a center hold-over. We'll see.

Lasergrips:

I have been excited about these ever since they were announced, and decided to give them a try. At $297 at Buds, they were $100 cheaper than retail. I am a big fan of the gray/black color scheme on the G10, and it looks great on a black weapon. The grip texture is moderately aggressive, but not over the top. Grips are a little wider than normal, but overall the whole package feels great in my hand. The laser works great and is very instinctive.

Overall, I really think this is a great package for home defense (which is the main use of this weapon).

Enough talk - here are some pictures.

I finally got out and shot the Enforcer with this setup today. With a 6 o'clock hold position, it will eat the center of the target. I initially thought I would have to do a 12 o'clock holdover, but it was high with this picture, so I went back to 6 o'clock.

The easily visible sight picture is great for up close shooting inside of 25 yards. Out past that you will lose some of the precision because of the size of the front dot - I'm not concerned about that though.

The Crimson Trace Master Series lasergrips worked excellent as well. When I sighted using just the laser dot, it hit right on the money every time.

This pistol continues to impress me every time I take it out.

Green dots in the back with no outlines, and also a green dot up front with a big yellow ring around it.
