I finally got my first 1911(s) this year. Kimber 5" Raptor and Springfield Range Officer
1. Does the inset screw on the trigger adjust the play/travel?
2. After much internet/reading research, I couldn't tell if there is much advantage to a full guide rod or not. My Kimber has a full one and my Springfield doesn't. Is it really a big deal?

1) Leave the trigger screw alone. You could alot more harm than good by messing with it.
2) I have both FLGR and GI setups on my 1911's and can't tell any difference either way.
3) Welcome to GT. :)

What damage could happen from tightening up the over travel screw?

Playing around with the over travel screw can cause auto burst fire. That's not a good thing.
