OK... if you are a Lee hater.... Merry Christmas and turn back now! .. and yes I agree that Dillon and RCBS, etc make uber nice stuff!!

If you, like me, actually like and use (or want to use) the Lee Pro 1000, well then, proceed below ......

I was on the Lee site today ordering some spare parts and a the adjustable charge "thing" that replaces the disk. I noticed the closeout section and clicked... http://leeprecision.com/xcart/Closeouts/

There I found factory reconditioned Pro 1000(s) for $126.50 + 5.00 for shipping. This includes a set of dies and is a smoking deal.

I have two Pro 1000's set up now for .45 and 9mm. Now I can add .357 to my line up!

I hope someone here can take advantage of this deal and I helped pay back some of the excellent advice I have gotten here at GT.

Great deal, wish I would have found this a couple months ago befor I i spent 65 on dies, shell plate and turret . Really thinking of adding a new on just so I dont have to change out primers from large to small.

Lee 357 dies won't reload 38spl. Get the 38spl and it WILL reload 357 as well.

WT, excellent point!

I missed that one but have some old, and I mean 20+ years old, Lee dies marked .38 / .357 and have used them for both.

I ordered the 9mm set up as a have duplicates of .40/10 mm and .45. Sadly, .223 was not option they listed and one that I DO need!

JD out....

The 40 shellplate will load 38/357. So while it's not as convenient as moving your chair over, switching between those two families is a pretty quick changeover.

I'll have to remember that. What is different on the .357mag dies that don't allow loading .38?

This place also sells Lee parts and the bulk of the Lee products offered.

They are too long, the seater anyway, and you can't adjust them down low enough. There was a discussion about this recently here. I forget what the original topic was. Some member got some used gear, including a Lee 357 die set, and he couldn't get them to load 38's.

Looks like the .44mag 3 Die set can't load .44special either.

Just looked. The 4 die sets are listed as being able to load .38spec/.357mag and .44Spec/.44mag.

dkf,

Holy cow you are not kidding! Their prices are VERY good and less than Lee direct.

Thank you!
