View Full Version : I handled a Kimber for the first time
actually first time with a 1911 in my hand.
Crap. Why didn't someone warn me NOT to touch a Kimber.
If felt like a quality gun, I am very impressed, my wallet will not like me too much.

I have had nothing but luck with the three I've purchased over the years. Bought the last one back in '05, I think.

I much prefer the older Kimbers but a good friend bought a new one over the summer and it shoots very well.

Then whatever you do, don't go fondling a Wilson/Guncrafter/Nighthawk/Baer/Brown...etc. :tongueout:

Exactly! The first 1911 I ever handled was a Kimber SIS. It felt like a great quality gun, coming from Glocks. Then I handled some Wilsons, NHC, Ed Browns and 2010-11 DWs, WOW!
Welcome to the bigs. Once the 1911 bug hits you there is no return.

It seems to work that way for me when I handle 1911s.. I don't care for the feel of a 3.5 barrel but other than that they all feel either very good or better. :)

I love my Kimber. Mine was an almost like new Series I, but my dad bought 2 within the last year and they have been reliable as well. Though there's no denying there are better 1911s out there.
My wife really likes her Stainless Ultra Carry.
I keep trying to sway her towards a quality gun though.
