I went to one of our LGS this afternoon looking for either a nice used DE.44MAG or a nice used or new 1911. No luck on a nice used DE .44MAG, but I did manage to buy a new 1911. I picked up one of the new Remington 1911-R1 ENHANCED models (that makes it 81 now). I got it for $886 OTD. That was a good deal in my opinion. It is a really nice pistol. The trigger pull is light a crisp at about 3.5lbs. The grips are nice, as is the extended slide safety.

Is the Enhanced model different from the Talo model?

Is the Enhanced model different from the Talo model?

Yes it is. The TALO version is a base model 1911-R1 with nice Rosewood grips with the medallion in them.

You still have a few hours to change your mind and get #82. Congrats on a nice pistola. Saw one at buds a couple of days ago. Like that better than the R-1.

I was fingering one the other day. I equate this as the same standard as the new Ruger, which I have had the opportunity shoot. I like the Remington trigger much better than the Ruger. This model had a better trigger than the R1, (Not sure why)

Nice catch, let us know how she shoots.

Speaking of shooting it, I did get it to the range yesterday. I was very pleased. I only put 32 rounds through it just to check everyting out. Doing headshots @7 yards, all 32 rounds were in a fist-size group. I probably could have done better if I had not been rushing. The trigger pull was excellent. Light and smooth. The sights work very well. The fiberoptic front sight was very easy to pick up on the follow-up shots. Overall impression, this is an outstanding 1911.
