I picked up a box with their 230 grain HAP bullets, just to try.
I find it interesting it says on the box "Utilizing polymer coated steel cartridge cases and non-corrosive berdan primers.........................". Since the "font" on the headstamp appears to be the same as Wolf I thought I'd pull a bullet and see what they were made of.
The HAP bullet looks like an XTP, without the scoring. The cartridge was loaded with 4.5 grains of a small flake powder. And, low and behold, the cases are BOXER primed just like Wolf and Tula .45 ACP cases. I'm guessing Hornady is buying cases (maybe primed cases) from Tula in Russia, then loading their own bullets.
I haven't had a chance to shoot any, yet.
Has anyone else tried this ammo? If so, what is your experience?
