View Full Version : New toy- Ruger Talo SR-1911
I just picked this up on Friday at the LGS. I really wanted the standard stainless model, but just can't find it around here (Philly, PA), so I splurged. i think I did OK $769+tax. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, but here's some pics with my favorite Alessi CQCS leather. Happy New Year!

Where around here did you find it?
At South Philadelphia Archery and Gun Club at 8th and Ellsworth in Philly.
The Ruger may be my next 1911. I was mad at Ruger for a number of years but lately I seem to be collecting a lot of their products.

I'll trade you my all stainless + $100 if you don't like that two tone!
Thanks for the offer, but I'll keep it for now. It looks cool next to my Colt Night Defender 3" Talo, also two tone.
Very nice
Congrats!

Very funky two tone look. Those Talo people got their hands in everything nowadays.
The only real difference between the Standard version and the Talo is the Cerakoted slide and the black hardwood grips. I also got a 3rd magazine for some reason. I haven't even seen the Standard stainless in any stores, so I took this one home.

There's a waiting list at about every shop in my area for the SR1911. I'm not a big bright stainless guy so I'd really dig the Talo or a matte stainless version.

i'm thinking i need to keep some napkins near the laptop to wipe up the drool that usually ensues when i log on to GT. :wow:
That is just too pretty. I haven't yet seen a reg stainless in person yet but i've decided that a Ruger will likely be my 1st 1911. I wouldn't mind a two tone or all blued gun. i have a s&w 4506 so i have an all stainless 5 inch .45
wouldn't mind something different and that is really nice. congrats!

Nice. I love the way a traditional two-tone looks.
Congrats on your 1911! :)

You can have the slide blasted for ~$60.
