I'm looking at their blue model (O1970CY), $1600 NIB.

Quality, reliability, fair price? Looks like a nice piece, but I would like to hear real experience from you 1911 aficionados.:wavey:

No "real" experience, but that's the one I'd get if I were in a "getting" mood for this pistol. Check the dust cover before you buy one.

Hello 12131, I have owned a bunch of Colts and did own a blue/nickel two tone SCG .38 Super. It was a very nice looking gun with lots of "features". I don't recall any malfunctions with my SCG with any ammo I used. Unfortunately, mine, and the others I handled in both calibers, showed no more precision in fitting of slide/barrel/frame than found in a standard production Colt. Mine displayed no better accuracy than standard, current production, Colt Government Models. Even so, they are nice guns. The Carry model you're considering is, I think, a lower production version. That is the one version of the SCG, that I have never seen or handled in person. IMHO, it is the best looking of the SCGs. If I were currently looking for one, I'd pay $1600.00. If you don't buy it I'd be interesred in knowing where it is for sale...

Good price and good looking gun, but I can't look past the S80 crap.

I like Colts. Although I have 1911s by Baer, Brown, Dan Wesson, Remington, Sig Sauer and Wilson Combat; when I'm at the range punching paper for points, with the exception of one 9mm Baer PII, I'm shooting either a Gold Cup or a .38 Super Special Combat Government.

Its in my guide.

Its Colt's current top of the line 1911. I just wish it were a Series 70 design. :sigh:

Ior a .38 Super Special Combat Government.

The brother don't do all that weird stuff like mag well funnel and extended this or that. HOWEVER, the brother may have to make some sacrifices for a .38 Super caliber model.:embarassed:

I would love to have a O2570CM, .38 Super Hard Chrome, even though I have never seen one.

I was just browsing and found it on HKPro. Please, be my guest. I like it, but don't need to have it right at the moment.:wavey:

There's one in my above post; it looks even better in person.
