Thought I would try carrying my G29 on the outside. Are there any recommended holsters for people that carry OWB?

Thank you,

I've had good luck with Fobus roto-padddle holsters. They are cheap and work perfect. Fobus is used by the Israeli special forces and you can find them at Amazon or Optics planet and many others. Good luck!

Ditto on the Fobus paddle. I like mine a lot.

I have a Galco concealment for my g20 sf. Just got it..
Very Comfortable.
I also have the glock sport holster. Not heavy enough for everyday bang around but will work well in a pinch

Ive had this one for a few years now. Easy on easy off and stays put very well. Doesnt matter where your belt loops are you can position it anywhere. If Im driving I can easily adjust or move it to crossdraw very easily.

I like my Blackhawk! SERPA. Mine is actually for my G21SF, but my G29 fits (though a tad tight, the G29's frame is the tiniest bit wider). If you're looking for something you can conceal under a jacket or something, it may not be ideal, but if you will open-carry, it's perfect. It comes with a belt attachment, and a very secure type of paddle. It's adjustable for cant, has retention, and is very smooth on draw and reholstering.

Comp-Tac Paddle, I have a bunch of 'em now.

Or, a nice Alessi CQC-S, only have a couple of those.

I chose this holster after looking and trying on various other brands. I dig the auto lock and how close my 29 sits close to my body. I am anxious to see if I can get adjusted to the paddle platform, if not, then I will just stick with the belt platform. Overall it seems like a nice. sturdy, and well-built (non-leather) holster.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Cabela's in Springfield Oregon gave me a FREE Glock Sport/Combat holster for my 29/30/21 last week. It's an ugly little bugger, but it sure carries my 29SF in tight.

I used it all week up there carrying my 21 and 30 and it was great. The price was right and I needed something new. My Fobus for the 30 is wearing out. Won't provide solid "snap" retention any longer. More like a "thunk". Time to S-can it. Not a big believer in Fobus equipment anyway. Saw an instructor once kick one out of a student's waistband as a demo of the LACK of retention. Unloaded pistol and Fobus went airborne and suddenly it was all hand to hand. No bueno, Amigos.

I like the Lobo Gunleather holster with snaps, I like the quick on and off with no belt threading.

I bought one of these X-Concealment holsters a few weeks ago and it seems to be working really well also.

When in the woods, ATV riding I use this...UGT good security and protection for the gun and extra magazine. This is not a fast draw type holster!

I just bought the Glock sport holster for my g20,21 and 29. What a great holster! Rides high, and comfortable and is softer than I thought it would be. For $12 at cheaper than dirt this is a buy. Wish I would have done this long ago and saved a bunch of money on owb holsters.

I'm thinking of one of those if the SERPA doesn't work out. I'm also looking for one that has a good 15-degree cant.

If you don't want to wait for it to ship to you, a clone of this holster is usually in Walmart on the airgun aisle.

Well, this SERPA thing isn't working out, belt or paddle wise. Not close to the body at all. Other than that it is a fine holster. I think I will try the Glock Sport next and if that don't satisfy then onto the Raven Phantom.

I was going to place an order with Raven today but instead I thought I would give this guy a try. Instead of 5 mos, just about a week and a lot cheaper.

Get a Safariland 6378 paddle holster designed for cops. Order from OpticsPlanet for around $40 including free shipping and don't look back. Strong paddle, that won't break or (hell) even bend and good freekin luck learning to remove it from your belt once you put it on. An instinctly natural thumb-activated release which is small and discreet lets you draw like lightning. You can re-holster your G29 without any weirdo maneuvering and because the opening is 100% stiff and open it's locked back in on re-holstering, so it's positively not going to come out again.

http://www.opticsplanet.net/safariland-6378-als-paddle-holster-stx-plain-black-right-hand-6378-483-411.html

It's certainly bulkier than an IWB holster but for an OWB it does a great job. You shouldn't have to futz with a holster at a critical moment, and drawing from this one is like drawing from a loose open-top only with some REALLY good security while it's IN the holster.

Works great for G26 as well. Adjustable level of retention.

Edit: UPS! ...OP asked for G29 http://glocktalk.com/forums/images/smilies/embarass%20.gif in that case, this:

I love it.
Thick Kydex. Once you have it in place and secure your belt, it is not moving

Great to hear. Just waiting in mine to come in. Have had a Raven in order for over a month, hasn't made production yet. May cancel if this one does the trick

Hey there, I did it actually just came yesterday. I had ordered a 101 holster at the same time and have been using it. To be honest the 101 is a lot better. Was really disappointed with Hideous Holsters quoted time frame, and the quality wasn't worth the wait (flimsy and rough and still even had all kinds of kydex dust in it when I received it) . Will stick with 101 Holsters.
