I carry 9mm 115gr. hp gold dots in my gen 4 glock 17, used to use federal premium 9mm 124 gr. hydra-shok jhp in my glocks until I did some research and found out they're not the greatest defensive rounds. I'm thinking about carrying Hornady 9mm 115 gr. Z-Max though... I just found a place that sells Winchester Ranger ammo. I might buy a couple boxes of those...

I read somewhere that 115gr is best for 9mm as opposed to higher gr 124, 147gr... because the heavier grain bullets don't travel fast enough to achieve reliable expansion. I don't know if this is true or not but I practice with winchester white box 115 gr. so I use 115gr. for my defensive ammo.

I carry pure copper Corbon DPX's in every firearm that I own. We all should. I am very passionate, and well read on pure copper bullets. I have also done lots of my own testing of Barnes bullets the past several years. Pure copper is the future of bullets. Lead is the most inferior, most unpredictable component of all standard JHP's. Therefore just take it out and you are left with a projectile that expands perfect and penetrates deep every time. I could write all night on it. The only drawback is they are expensive, but the performance is more than worth a few extra bucks a box. Read up on them and buy some!

I own only one Glock and I'm currently carrying Double Tap 147-grain Gold Dot (from a 2007 purchase). I plan on testing out the 147-grain Hornady XTP when time and weather permit; and I have high hopes for this weight bullet for .357sig caliber.

I'm getting a bit weary in the search of the "best" ammo and plan on shooting up most of my premium JHP self-defense ammos when Spring/Summer get here and settle on two or three particular rounds.

If I were to stop today I'd be carrying Speer 125-grain Gold Dot. From what I've seen and read on the Internet the Remington Golden Saber Bonded rounds are also excellent and I plan on purchasing some on my next ammo order. If those pan out I'll be sticking with those three ammos, with the 147-grain round most likely carried if that weight's effectiveness and reliability can be established. There really isn't much information available about the heavier .357sig JHP bullet.
