View Full Version : VanGuard 2 RCS
Looks like Raven Concealment Systems unveiled an updated version of their Vanguard recently. Looks like a nice progression to a carry option that might be worth taking another look at.
Already some video reviews floating around, mostly of guys with beards.
That is a pic of the Vanguard. The Vanguard 2 comes with a "pull-the-dot" belt loop on a tuck-able strut, which mounts via the riveted hole.
Fairly certain that is a VanGuard 2 because it isn't made out of kydex. It can be used with a strut or a string.
Better pictures of it.
I got a goatee and I perfer Dale Frickle's Zack.
I would suspect that injection molded polymers can be made to withstand more abuse than kydex. That may be overkill in this application but the extra peace of mind might be worth it.
I wasn't a fan of the VanGuard with a string but this strut and belt loop looks promising. Plus, I would suspect that injection molded polymers can be made to withstand more abuse than kydex. That may be overkill in this application but the extra peace of mind might be worth it.
I am with you on this one Uncle Punk!
I came close to having a solution to the 'string', but it was just a fancy way to do the string...
I am liking this new product more! The strut is the *perfect* blend or replacement for the Clipdraw...
Very promising indeed!
I never understood the clipdraw along with the string or what value it added to the set-up, the string keeps it in place sufficiently. I do like the idea of the strut keeping the trigger guard in place so that your draw can be a "normal" one.
I think they came close on this one, but the loop isn't the best solution...
Thinkin bout another solution... backward compatible solution...
Backward compatible and still tuckable? Not that it would matter to me I don't tuck, too much muffin top.
SHOT Show - Raven Concealment Systems Vanguard II - YouTube
I hadn't seen that video yet, it seems to have a lot of features for such a small package.
I am extremely hot for one. I think it will ad a lot less print. A kahr pm9 in a bear claw iwb holster is about as thick as a small frame glock. Now I can IWB a G26 and with the same bulk. I am a bit disappointment of the price though. $40 is a bit pricey since the VG1 is only $20
I think the pricing is at $35 for the complete setup and $20 for the V2 to be used as a tethered trigger guard just like the old VanGuard.
I carry a G19 or a PM9 depending on how I need to dress, I'd be real interested in seeing one of these for the PM9.
