View Full Version : Colt no longer making handguns?
Has Colt stopped producing handguns? Both of my distributors are completely out of stock on their 1911 line. I looked on Colts home page and they don't even list handguns.
Colt Pistols: Colt pistols have long represented the gold standard in magazine-fed semi-automatic handguns. (http://www.coltsmfg.com/Catalog/ColtPistols.aspx)

I just bought four or five new production Colts the last year with the most recent about a month ago.
As far as distributors and dealers are out of stock, that's true. Colt doesn't conk out a lot of pistols and they get snapped up very quick.

Apparently Ruger has stopped producing handguns too since there are no SR 1911's in stock anywhere...:dunno:

Damn Google search.
I'm still holding out for my centennial 1911, I called a week or two ago and they still hadn't gotten all 750 of them out yet.
yep, they stopped...that's why they had a display at SHOT with 1911's and the Mustang Pocketlite.

Colt is also reintroducing the Gold Cup National Match AND still keeps the Gold Cup Trophy.
I don't get it.
Still churning them out, and nicely at that!
