Hello All,
Recently I picked up a G26. (Love that thing) I'm going over self defense scenarios with my wife and she says, "is there a holster or something so I can carry it on me while I'm home alone?" I was very happy to hear that!

Basically I'm looking for opinions on a holster for her to use. I'm thinking maybe a paddle type. Something easy to use. I was looking at the serpa, but I think that would be too complicated right now as she is a beginner. Something not too expensive would be a plus as well. Thanks for your help.

There's Fobus, but they sometimes take a lot of force to remove the gun.

Check out Galco's basic leather holsters. Should be easy for her to get used to.

Someone needs to design the "Over the Shoulder Glock Holder"

Edit: apparently some one already has...

Take a look at N82 tactical - http://n82tactical.com/n82store/

It really is super comfortable. I think there are better holsters out there but for what you have described this may be the ticket.

I have a Raven Holster for both me and my wife for our G26's. I use the straight drop and she uses the canted. I highly recommend Raven Holsters. I have carried many leather holsters but they take a long time to break in to get a smooth draw. Raven Holsters have the quickest draw with no drag but yet hold great retention. I still like leather but prefer these Raven Holsters. I tried the Serpias and was not a fan. IMO these are the best Kydex holsters out there right now. 100% American made too.

They are not the cheapest but you have to put things into perspective. You're shopping for an item that will hold a gun that can/will defend your wife and family. Spend the money, its worth it.

The SERPA shouldn't be too complicated, as a matter of fact, it would teach her to keep her finger straight along the slide/frame and out of the trigger during the draw.

ETA- Alabama Holster Co is a GT advertiser and they make good stuff.

Here's an interesting holster, simple and versatile. I ordered one the other day for my bodyguard 380. If I like it i'm gonna try one for my G23.
Only $25

Use what you would for CCW.
+1 on Raven

I ordered a Desantis Mini Scabbard today. It's all leather and looks like it will work really well for OWB and over the belt. What she gets depends on whether or not she wants it concealed right?

I have Remora holsters and cannot say enough good things about them for CC.

How about a Remora?

I love my Remora & G26 unless I'm wearing elastic waist shorts or sweatpants, then I wear one of these http://www.concealmentconceptsholsters.com/lowrider.html

Would a lite weight leather concealment vest work for her?

Check out Don Hume - decent holsters for a reasonable price. IWB or OWB for under $50 - I use an 721ot OWB and have another thats for IWB use.

If she wears a belt, a Glock Sport Combat holster is a great holster and is inexpensive.
Every Glock owner should have one.

I'd say a paddle or the Glock belt holster would be easiest for around-the-house wear. I would think they'd be easier and more comfortable than carrying IWB.

Good point on the glock holster. I may go that route till I find something we like. Thanks!

I wear a leather belt holster around the house when I'm not planning on going out. It's perfect for when you're wearing pajama pants and all. And it's definitely easy for girls to use. No complications at all.
