View Full Version : My new carry gun.
Asked for suggestions, and this is what I ended up with.
XD(m) 3.8 Compact.

And I ended up going with a 9mm even though I said I wanted .40 or .45. Cheaper to shoot, holds 13+1 and 19 in the spare mag. Plus, it will be easier for my wife to shoot it.
Had to get the zombie ammo for it.

The gun comes with two or three mags? Because if it were to come with two mags and then they include a double mag pouch, that's kind of weird.

2. I don't quite understand it either. I missed out though, last fall Springfield Armory was giving away 3 more mags and a bag for free.

good stuff. 9mm will be sufficient for self defense.
XDMs are great guns. 33 rounds on hand should be sufficient.
Congrats.

Nice setup you have pictured, you going to retire it for the new XDM? I wanted to jump on a .40 when they had the deal with free mags but did not have the dough then.:crying:
Give us a report when you get it to the range.

Not going to retire it, I just wanted something that held more rounds. I don't carry a spare mag usually, so now I have 14 rounds instead of 8.
That and I've been wanting to buy an XD for a while, and I am getting a refund check from Mazda for just over $600 for the remaining balance on my extended warranty on my old car, so I figured I'd put it to good use.
never enough
