View Full Version : glock 36
I bought a used Glock model 36. It worked fine, until recently. I had several failures to return to battery. And failures to extract, with different brands of ammo. The gun is clean. I have several other Glocks that function fine with the same ammo. Can someone please tell what could be causing this problem.
I would begin with changing the recoil rod/springs.
And a good cleaning.
Try detail stripping and cleaning the slide, particularly the extractor and the slot in the slide that the extractor fits into. I use rubbing alcohol and q-tips with special care not to leave any cotton behind in the gun. If you use oil for corrosion resistance, make sure to wipe every part and internal area absolutely dry before reassembling. If the cleaning doesn't fix the problem, try replacing the extractor with a new G36 extractor.

Here's an easy way to disassemble and reassemble the firing pin assembly:
On the following page are some Glock Armorer's Manuals, just scroll down to the "G" section. I learned from the Update Manual and 2009 Manual. The 2009 Manual has a few pages missing, but that info can be found in the Update Manual as well.
