Remington has rebate on ammo:

Remington® Golden Saber® HP P&R -
Remington® Centerfire Pistol & Revolver
Remington® G&Y Varmint

If you reload or buy ammo by the pallet than that is fine for you. A lot of people don't.

I like 147 and 124gr HSTs out of my 19.

I used to carry the 124-grain Golden Saber +P in a fine Steyr M9-A1 I owned but no longer have, replaced by an excellent Steyr S9-A1. In the interim I became concerned with the Golden Saber's reputation for core/jacket separation.

I've seen and read some good Internet reports on the bonded Golden Saber ammo and have decided to buy some in 9mm and .357sig on my next Internet ammo order. It shot very well in the M9-A1 (standard version) and I expect the bonded GS will do the same in the smaller Steyr.

I'm most upset with myself for passing up a going-out-of-business fire sale on Remington ammo from one Internet source about four years ago when the dealer was dumping boxes of the .357sig round for $10. I've never seen the standard version in this caliber so I assume it was the bonded ammo.

WW raised their prices by $2/box for 40 cal. Should have bought more awhile back.

Golden Sabers have a proven reputation among LEO's in just about every caliber. Our resident expert Mas, thinks highly of them.

Don't know what the current price is at Walmart, but I'm sure there are better deals to be found online if you buy in bulk.

No, no, not really. When you take into account shipping (and sometimes tax) then even if you buy say 1000 rounds you are better off at walmart. I am speaking of 180gr fmj 40 cal.
Can't speak for 9mm or 10 or 45 cal.

I bought some Federals for 27.8 cents a piece, otd.

When I factor in time and hassle and gas (unless I'm there anyway) Walmart is no cheaper and in 9mm and .45 is certainly more expensive, especially for anything brass cased.

That's $278 per 1000 at Walmart. Ouch. .40 is getting expensive, I haven't priced any for a while.

Here is some Blazer for $269.80 shipped.
http://www.targetsportsusa.com/p-702-cci-blazer-40-sw-165-grain-total-metal-jacket-ammunition.aspx?

Or some Remington for $271.80 shipped.
http://www.sgammo.com/product/remington/500-rd-case-40-cal-remington-165-grain-fmj-ammo-nickel-plated-brass-case-ln40sw4

And there are some remanufactured brands that are even cheaper than that if you don't mind reman ammo.

Those would save you a few bucks anyway if you bought in bulk. If course, if you're just buying a few boxes now and then, then Walmart is hard to beat.

Sportsman's Guide has Golden Sabers for a pretty reasonable price. They're about 50% less than Bass Pro.
