just picked myself up a Glock 23 as an early birthday present and figured I would share some pictures. i have been a long time lurker of GT (& youtube: hickok!) trying to make an informed decision (including range time with the 23 and 19 early on). after putting a couple hundred down range so far i'm very happy with my purchase.

added AmeriGlo night sights, Glockmeister plug, and a smooth trigger.

dialed in the sights with the MGW sight tool and an old depth gauge.

had a friend of mine make a keychain Glock tool with a 3/32" stainless steel dowel pin inserted into a 6061 aluminum handle. love how easy it is to tear down

Congrats! Great photos and I like the idea of that tool! The only thing that's kept me from turning a Glock Tool into a keychain is the fact that the punch is regular steel and not stainless.

Thanks again, it would seem there will be enough interest for a small batch.

Ill definitely keep everyone updated. I think it's pretty neat to have handy just in case, and it worked well when I used it to replace the trigger.

Just to note, the date collected on my 23 was 1/05/11, and I'm happy to report I have no issues thus far with ejection or otherwise.

You can use the ink tube from some pens. I've detail stripped multiple Glocks with a ink tube from a little Skilcraft pen that I had on me.

I bet the tool sucks for taking mags apart.

super_chief
02-05-2012, 02:45
unfortunately I cannot comment on mag dissasembly.

I dare not take apart a CA 10 round mag until I have a few more handy (hear they're a pain).

The tool is merely something I had requested for my own personal use since I was unable to find a comparable unit readily available. The closest thing I could come up with was the add on for the Leatherman tool which was just another large item to have to carry around.

IMO to offer such a simplistic tool on a keychain just made sense. As previously stated the tool worked great to replace my trigger with a smooth version. I had no issue installing/removing the two receiver pins for the locking block or the rear pin for the housing. The tool rests in the palm with the rounded end to apply pressure firmly. The slide was also easy enough to detail strip with the keychain tool without any issue.

I strongly advocate the use of a full size tool if it happens to be handy. This keychain tool is just that, a convenient pocketable item. Thanks for looking

I would like to see the tool made with a thinner profile that could fit between the magwell and backstrap. That way the tool would be with the gun...until I lose it.

Not to put a damper on your buddy's business, but I found this while looking around, seems kinda interesting, but would be too big for my liking...

Sorry for the delay.

Yes, he still will be making these soon. He has various projects already in progress which has taken up his time. He works on anything really, but lately it's been guns, BMX parts, knives, EDC, flashlights, etc

I just took some photos of the tool he made for himself (I own the original one as I had requested the idea) on his manual mill and lathe. He needs to program his Sherline CNC mill for the production tools and he will get going on this project. The Glock keychain tool will have it's own thread here on GT, and I will be sure to PM all members that have requested it in this thread.
