Hello All,

I'm new to this site and have just purchased my first gun, a gen3 g19. Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap practice ammo and self defense ammo? Also, any suggestions as to best places to buy are more than welcomed!

Thanks!

To the above, I would add the Fed. 115gr +p+. I would only buy in 50 per box and you can do that best on-line. There are places like GA where you can get cheap practice ammo.

Cheap practice ammo? Whatever factory ammo you can find at the best price: Winchester, Federal, Remington, CCI, Magtech, S&B, Fiocchi, Independence (by CCI), it's all good.

For SD I use Federal 115JHP+P+, but any of the modern SD ammo (Rem Golden Saber, Fed HST, Speer Gold Dot, etc) is just fine. Just stay away from HP ammo made by foreign companies like Magtech, S&B, Prvi Partizan, Aguila, Fiocchi etc. are not worth using because of their poor designs.

as mentioned above, Sgammo.com also carries practice ammo and for a fair price, shipped to your door. buy both, save shipping.

I would put the round into Ammo Seek and you can easily compare:

I agree with the above SD loads suggested and would add for cheap ammo try Tula, it's what i run in both my 26 and my 19 it has never missed a beat.

I would personally never use 115gr anything in 9mm and prefer the 147gr HST for it's handling characteristics, but the 124+p is good too.
