I just bought my first AR15. I have been looking for one under $900. I just got the Stag Arms Model 2 at a local shop for $860. I'm excited to shoot it. I have a feeling now I am going to spend alot on add ons. Any suggestions?

Ammo and mags - PMAGs are generally the best bang for the buck. Learn the platform, learn it's issues and strengths, THEN worry about upgrades, optics, etc.

The model 2 isn't bad. Spikes h2 buffer with some pmags( or hk gi mags) and lots of ammo. Learn the platform and suit your needs from there as the post before me said.

PMAG's and ammo. A sling, maybe a light.

That's the one thing I forgot - a quality 2-point sling. Look at the slings from Viking Tactics and Vickers/Blue Force Gear.

My first AR was a STAG model 2, and I hated to sell it to cover car repair.

Next up...
I wanted a piston rifle in 6.8 SPC but none was to be found in the STAG catalog.

After I bought my Ruger 556 in 6.8, STAG told me they do indeed have a piston 6.8.

That will be my next AR, unless I think I never shoot enough to justify the extra expense
for a piston rifle, and go with the STAG model 5.

I also used the Vickers Blue Force sling on my ARs.
