GAP hollowpoints & heavy clothing

Dear Mas

I have a glock 37 GAP, and bought Winchester 185 grain Silver-tip hollowpoints

Is this load ok or proven for making its way through heavy clothing effectively?

In Jim Cirillo's book, unless I misread he questioned the HP effectiveness through a heavy clothing barrier

Any advice would be appreciated

Heavy clothing doesn't stop JHP bullets; at worst, it plugs them and turns them into flat-nose ball, which if anything will increase their penetration.

200 grain Gold Dot and 230 grain Winchester Ranger seem to be the police loads of choice in .45 GAP, both using later, higher-tech bullet designs.
