Iowa just got shall issue about a year ago and now House Joint Resolution 2005 is being considered. "If ultimately amended, Iowa would have the nationís strongest and most comprehensive gun protection, supporters said." Since shall issue became law 60,000 people have taken advantage of shall issue for an increase of 154 percent of carry permits.

Thanks for the article. Now I have a good guess as to why the Super Bowl Mayors Bloomberg and Menoni are dumping their anti-rights ad on America tonight.

I wonder what they think one more anti-rights gun law is going to do that the 40M+ gun laws on the books now hasn't done.

True. Well except for cities like Ankeny and their theocratic no strip club city ordinances.

This will clearly cause an increase in crime and gun violence

Great now the streets will look like the wild west with dead bodies all over the place because people are getting in altercations and pulling their guns.

It's so obvious that people having guns will lead to more deaths.

Every parking altercation will become an OK Corral...

Am fearing the state's Brady scorecard results already.

Same issue...are they now a reciprocal state with KS/MO?

My KS permit (as well as a MO permit) works in IA. Unfortunately I don't think KS will yet recognise the IA permit (but MO does). MO will accept all permits.*

I wonder what they think one more anti-rights gun law is going to do that the 40M+ gun laws on the books now hasn't done. They want one that will succeed at killing off the civilian gun culture in America. They're not interested in reducing crime or violence, they're wanting there to be fewer gun owners in the country and ideally eventually zero. They've managed to gerrymander us out of the populations of NYC, NJ, large cities of CA, Boston, Chicago, etc. so they can have their own little kingdoms to be perpetually reelected and run as they please and put presidential elections in the hands of a dozen or so population centers.

Late in 1985, I asked a gun shop employee in Ft. Lauderdale, FL how do I get a carry permit. He asked if I knew the President. A few short years later, Gov. Bob Martinez signed Florida's historic "Shall Issue" permit system into law. Now, all we have to do is get a few more states on board and we are good to go.

True. Well except for cities like Ankeny and their theocratic no strip club city ordinances.

I'm not sure that banning a bunch of previously sexually abused meth, crack, and heroine addicts from dancing half naked is a bad thing actually.

Then again, I have never understood guys that like strip clubs, when I want a steak, the last thing I want is someone waiving a steak in front of me that I am not allowed to eat.
