Putting all of my various quality holsters in writing in a separate post made me wonder who on GT has been carrying the same set-up (same firearm model, same holster, same position) for the longest time. So, how long have you been carrying the same set-up? What is the carry set-up? I certainly will not win this race.

Glock 19 in Galco KingTuk for the past 2 weeks that I've had my carry permit. Obviously not gonna win this one!

I've carried my PF9 in a CTAC since '09. Starting in winter '10/'11 I carried my G17C in a CTAC. Both just behind my right hip with the came cant.

For me, P226 in a sissy bag for about two years now (little over actually). :tongueout:

G27 in a Ctac for right at 5 years now. I have added others to the rotation but the G27/CTAC combo is the standard.

I am not going to win this, though. Some old guy with a 1911 in the same leather for the past 40 years will be along in a bit, I'm sure. We have some long time gun carriers around here.

Since about the mid 80's till about 5 years ago I carried a Charter Arms Off Duty 38spcl 5 shot snubbie in a DeSantis 02 leather open top pancake holster for EDC. Still have both and stiil in very good condition. Gun shoots great with better sights than my S&W 642-2. Also carried spare ammo on speed strip in Safariland holder that mounts on belt and flips open. Holster has held up very well over the years. On occasion I also carried a 70 series full size 45acp government model in a shoulder holster or simple belt slide. When necessary I would occasionally carry a Seecamp .25acp in ankle holster or wallet holster in pocket. For the past few years I have switched to semi-autos with EDC being gen3 G19 in Don Hume H721ot or Safariland paddle holster. Frequently I will carry a G21sf in the same style Don Hume holster. When necessary I will carry a Ruger LCP in Hunter wallet holster or Galco ankle holster. I also put in a lot of range time

Glock 19 in a pancake holster, at 3:00 o'clock, since 1999 or 2000. The current pancake holster I've had since 2003.

G26 in a Alessi Talon Plus since 1998. Not sure this counts as I had to replace the holster with the thing after messing it up some years ago
Sig P226 in a Uncle Mike shoulder holster since 1989.
S&W 28 in a Uncle Mike shoulder holster since 1979

G-26 in a FIST #1 ultra thin kydex AIWB for about four years. I always seem to come back to this set up. I do pack other guns at times but the baby glock in the thin kydex is the best deep carry combo out there.

I carried a .40 S&W in a Front Line (Israeli) IWB holster at either 12:30 or 3:00 for the better part of a decade.

The longest set up I ever carried was a SIG P228 in a Galco holster on my right hip. Did this for about 16 months before changing my carry habits.

I carried a Kahr MK9 in an MD brand beltslide for six years.
Sold off the Kahr to an INGO member last year, lost the holster from that now defunct company.........

It was a good setup, I just changed horses. I do that sometimes.

I've carried in Crossbreed's for about the last 5 years. Always between a Glock 26 or the Kahr PM9. Once I found the crossbreed, I stopped messing around trying to find other holsters.

G21SF with Pic rail in an MTAC from Comp-Tac on a Looper Leather Kydex reinforced belt for as long as the 21SF has been out, so about 4 years, I think. Although for the last year the Taurus 650 has been getting carried a bit more.

I've been carrying a glock of some flavor in the same Kramer #2 at 3:00 for about ten years now.

Started with a g36 for about six years, then have used a 17, 19, and now a 23.

Up until a few years ago I had carried a Glock 23 in a Galco Royal Guard for about 15 years.

Probably going to have roughly the same time in on this Sig 245 in a Versa Max 2 before I change it again.

longest ive gone is about two years with a ctac/g19. but, with me buying a new pistol every year or a new holster every six months, my setup changes often. like now, just purchased a SA 1911 range officer saturday and ordered the kydex body for it to go with my mtac today :)

My G-27 in a Fobus, isn't going to impress anybody now is it?

BuckyP

LOL, not even close. Most I go is two years before switching to something else.

Funny thing is, right before I knew I was moving to a free state (immigrated from the Socialist Republic of NJ) I picked up a G27 and that was my first. Switched it up quite a bit over the 8+ years, but just picked up a G27 a couple months ago. :dunno:

As for holsters, you have to be kidding me!! I usually use different holsters day to day (for the same gun) depending on what I am wearing. Different style loops (offset vs. center) with respect to the location of the belt loops on the pants. IWB vs. OWB depending on the length of my shirt. Admittedly, I'm also a holster addict. :embarassed:

I would be one of those.

1911 in .45ACP high on the hip since about . . . 1976 . . . maybe 1975.:embarassed:

Ruger GP100 4 inch barrel in an Uncle Mike size 2 IWB holster at 0130 for about 4 hours. I change with the wind so to speak, depending upon a lot of factors.

Same rig only the weapons have been up graded.. Uncle mike duty belt, Galco Fletch holsters in later years and one mag pouch plus mini mag flashlite!!! Oh yeah belt stays... The weapons have been 3rd Gen Smiths, Beretta 92FS and now my Glock G22 the best of all!!! I believe in bringing a full size weapon to any fight I'm going to be in (Started in my Amored Car Carrying years)!!! Any loose fitting overshirt'll hide the rig just fine!!

I've tried a few different gun/holster combos from time to time. From the day I obtained my permit to carry back in 2004, I've been carrying my Sig 229 .40 in a Desantis thumb break scabbard on my right side. My spare mag (when I only carry one) rides weak side in a Don Hume mag carrier.

I used to carry a Surefire 6P flashlight weak side but changed over the the Streamlight Strion LED last year.

There is also a knife and O.C. spray hidden under my shirt. I carry it all on a Galco 1.5" double thick gun belt. No purse for this girl!

I carried the same Colt 1911 in the same holster from February 1992 to June 2011. I switched to a Glock 23 and I keep switching between two different holsters.

G19 gen4 in a simply rugged cuda for past three-four months. I want to try different methods and when I find the best way I'll probably stick with it.

I have been carrying my G17 the same way since 1989 - that would make it 23 years.

Hasn't always been the same gun, but until I recently changed to a Supertuck I had carried a Glock in a Sidearmor IWB at about the 3:00 position for over 11 years.

I suppose I could chime in. I've been carrying a series I Kimber Ultra Carry in stainless for about 12 years in a Milt Sparks Executive Companion.
