I have a gen 4 22,23, and 2 gen 4 17s. The g22&23 were purchased prior to July 2011. The 17s have been purchased since the first of the year.

No issues with any or the 4. The 22 and one 17 are duty guns for edc on duty and the 23 is my ccw/off duty gun. The other 17 is just cause.

1. Which model(s) do you own?
Glock 26

2. Which fits your situation:
A. I have no problem with this handgun:
No problem that bothers me

B. I have ejection problems with this handgun
I have gotten some brass in my face. Is that a Gen 4 problem? A problem with the Gen 4 26 in particular? Is there and ejector recall?

C. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed it, and it now rocks.
Not sure I have a problem.

D. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed them, but it still isn't right.
N/A

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.
Was there any issue with any Gen 4 26s?

PS: For what it's worth, my 26's brass date is 01/27/11. How do I check my extractor type?

Shot 410 rounds through my new Gen 4 G-19. Zero issues. A few pieces of brass to the head on one hand and weak hand shooting (also happens with my other Glocks if I don't have a firm grip.) All with my personal light reloads.

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.

It's a pain in the ass but it's a great shooting gun so I will give it a chance. An armorer is looking at it and hopefully will have it fixed soon.

Gen 4 G17
Bought used last year from a GT forum member,( Thanks alot buddy :wavey:)

manufacture date October 2010

B. I have ejection problems with this handgun

FTE's and erratic ejecting at my forehead

Finally sent it off to Glock last week for repair. Will report back when it gets back home.

On a side note, So far I'm really impressed with Glock's customer service. I emailed them about the problem and they actually called me the next day! Less than 24hr response. They are fixing it on their dime. I had to pay shipping though because the gun was more than a year old. I'm ok with that. I hope this gets fixed right, I really like this gun. It's so fast shooting and very accurate.

The gun just got back yesterday and I'm picking it up from FedEX this afternoon. I'll have to wait till the weekend to shoot it though. will report back with my results.

1. Which model(s) do you own?

G17 Gen4(Factory fired 06/28/11) - Have about 400 rounds through the pistol.

2. Which fits your situation:

Weak ejection on mild to mid range loads, adequate
ejection on full power loads.

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.

I am trying a couple of the suggested extractor mods,
mentioned on this site, but if there is little improvement,
I can live with the current ejection function. The pistol
has been rock solid reliable, with a variety of loads, but
the accuracy is not where I have come to expect Glock
pistols to be. I purchased the pistol for GSSF matches,
but unless I can find a way to keep it stock, and get
better 25 yard accuracy, this one may be the first
Glock I have sold/traded. My G20SF, G30SF, and even
my G27 make this G17 look like a scatter gun.

My Gen 4 27 was test fired in April of 2011. It's giving me a problem because it's costing me a bundle in ammo. It just keeps going bang every time I pull the trigger. I can't seem to make it fail. Shoots everything.

Answer C.

G19 Gen 4
Purchased early this year. In first 200 rounds I had 3 FTE's and many empty brass to the head and shoulder.
Called Glock. Took it back to shop where purchased (Glock Armorer). They replaced the ejector and it now runs very nicely. Sent another 200 rounds through it with zero FTE's, zero brass on the head.

I have a Gen4 26, 30274 ejector. I'm an armorer and I have been the only one to touch/work on my gun. I put in the new ejector for good measure even though I wasn't having any issues. All other springs are good and in spec.

I found out, its completely ammo dependent. If I shot a light load it ejects very erratically. However, if I shoot premium loads it ejects just fine every time. I'm going to chrono some loads in my future testing to see what the fail point is. I had no issues in my first 700 or so rounds of my 26. Then on friday when I went to the range with a new load I worked up. Every time it ejected poorly. It was significantly lighter than what I normally use though.

I have a G19 Gen 4, my first Glock. It's had just over 500 rounds of various ammo through it in the past two days ()the only two I have shot it). It has had 4 failures so far.

1 ejection failure with 115gr Magtech without the light attached and:
3 failures with Winchester 147gr JHP. Two feed failures on the last round in a mag and one stovepipe.
With most of the 115gr stuff I shot about as much as 50% of the ejected casings (more or less depending on the brands) went straight up, back over my head, in my face and a few even down my shirt.

I am hoping it works itself out.

I just picked up a new G34 Gen 4 saturday and hit the range today and was so disappointed. I had a G17 since 1989 and have never had a problem with it at all.

This new one has multiple problems.
Slide doesn't lock back sometimes on last shot, Fails to feed on occasion and and stovepipes some. I have tried several magazines and lube. I am using American Eagle 115.

I am going to change ammo and see what happens, but most Glocks rock right out of the box.:crying:

Gen 4 G19. Had lots of brass to the face. Being a new shooter, lots of people insisted I must be the problem. Sent to Glock, came back no better. I called glock to replace the rsa. after 100 rounds. Same issues such as brass to the head or it trickling out of the side or just getting caught up. Waited till I found someone on GT selling 3rd gen ejector and ordered a lwd extractor with bearing. So far so good. Good luck on this quest...

I have one of each, the model 19 and the 26, both are Gen4.
They both have digested any ammo I feed it and both have had 0, FTF and 0, FTE.

I own a gen 3 19, and a gen 3 26. Sold the 26 for the gen 4 26.

Have zero problems with it so far.

Shot a hundred rounds out of it rapid fire. 50 from me, and 50 from my wife. Zero problems. Hits point of aim. Honestly, (after I polished everything up and threw in a lighter connector with tungsten guide rod) she shot just like every other Glock I've shot in the past. (1st gen 17, 3rd gen 27,19,26,22,23,29sf,&30) They all shoot the same in my eyes.
Can't complain. I like this gun soo much I'm tempted to get another. And with the 15 rnd mags w/ grip sleeve, this gun can get put in situations, and hang with its bigger brother. It's truly a "do-it-all" firearm. Imo, I couldn't have designed a better gun if I tried. This is a tool that I can do anything with, and stake a hundred percent confidence in. Not a lot of tools like that in this world.

I have 4 Gen 4s: 3 flawless, one has ejection-to-face issues.

Glock 26 Gen 4 - fire date 9/2011: NO PROBLEMS

Glock 17 Gen 4 FDE - fire date 3/2012: NO PROBLEMS

Glock 19 Gen 4 - fire date 1/2012: NO PROBLEMS

Glock 19 Gen 4 FDE - fire date 3/2012 (bought same day as my G17 FDE): Brass shoots back at my eyes or lands on my head - yes it has the newest extractor, ejector and RSA - its fire date was last month. Its the worst with Federal 115gr red box (which works fine in all my other "updated" Gen 4s). Its baffling the QC issues that Glock is having. I didnt believe it until this past month when I go this one. BUT BUT BUT, it doesnt have any FTF or FTE and is still pretty damn accurate and I would still bet mylife on it working - its just a pain in the ass to shoot...

For academic purposes only..

Gen 4 G17. nary an issue. No stoppages ever... No FTF's, no FTE's, no issues ever. 1.5 K + rounds give or take.

I have stopped counting rounds long ago. I see no point to it given my history with the pistol.

I know your thread is couple of months old. I have a G-19 gen4 bought new within the last 9 mos. I have put a minimum of 4000 rounds through it and I NEVER HAD ANY problems whatsoever. Haven't changed any parts. Its been absolutely reliable out of the box!
For the first 2k-3k rounds, I cleaned it after every use. Subsequent to that I clean it every ~600 rounds. Its in excellent condition. Wouldn't even think of selling/trading it.

I have a new 19 gen 4 that spits about 3-5 spent casings to the forehead out of every mag. Several people have shot it and its the same every time. I've only shot 150 rounds of WWB and federal 115 gr. there has been zero failures to feed which I am happy about and the gun feels great in my hands. I know a Glock Armorer that I am going to shoot with tomorrow, so we'll see. My gun has the new RSA and ejector. Hope I can figure this out, I really want to like this gun

Hello,

I've seen many, many threads here saying the Gen 4 G19's have ejection problems, and many people saying they work great. My dealer says they work great, and that the issue is history. I tend to think the issue is not as bad as it seems here on Glock Talk, simply because I suspect people are more likely to post regarding a problem gun. Before I purchase my next G19 and /or G26, I'd like to know how widespread the "problem" really is.

<b>Let's do a quick survey. Gen4 Glock owners only please:

1. Which model(s) do you own?

2. Which fits your situation:
A. I have no problem with this handgun
B. I have ejection problems with this handgun
C. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed it, and it now rocks.
D. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed them, but it still isn't right.3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.
</b>

Selfishly, I know your responses will be useful to me. I hope they will be useful to others also.

Update: Wow. Lots of great responses. Thank you all for responding, especially regarding an issue which has been beaten to death. It's good to see all of these opinions together in one thread.

Overwhelmingly Gen 4 is either not a problem at all... or for those with early Gen 4 purchases, updated parts have resolved the problem. I'm now TOTALLY confident in the purchase and am off to the dealer with GSSF coupon in hand.

1. G17 (4/22/12 test fire date)

1).
I have a model 17 and a model 19 Gen 4 and they both have no issues or problems with ejection or any other thing,
They shoot fast and continuously until the mag is empty.
I believe the issue stems from talk from jealous Gen 3 owners in part.
I have not met any unhappy Gen 4 owners.
The only problem is aftermarket suppliers not keeping up with the changes that were made on the Gen4.
Extended mag release is twice the price for gen 4 compared to the gen 3 price.
You can't even buy a Gen 4 aftermarket slide at any price.

Have had it for a few months. Round count is in the thousands. I have had zero ejection problems. I did have two Failure to fires however. They were both perfect primer strikes and would not fire in the G27 or its big brother being shot by my range partner. After two perfect strikes we disposed of these properly and moved on.

Gun is perfectly reliable with carry ammo. Again those are literally the only failures I have had. No loading problems, no ejection problems, and no brass to the face.

P.S. Ammo was from the same batch of American eagle.

One month new Glock 19 Gen 4. I've got about 300 rounds through it - my first handgun. I love everything about it except for the fact that 3 out of every 5 ejected casings hits me directly on my hairless head. One lodged on the top of my eye wear yesterday and left me a nice burn on the forehead. Gotta call Glock on Monday. How can I defend myself with a weapon that attacks me when I use it?

Nice. :) I don't really think that's the situation in this case, though. My first 50 rounds were during a one on one instruction session with a professional and it happened then, too. What I was taught seems to line up with other training resources that I've run into online so I don't think that I was taught incorrectly and I'm a pretty careful student so I don't think I've strayed too far from where I was during my initial session. Do you have some specific suggestions as to what specifically I could be doing wrong to cause this?

It's a pain in the ass but it's a great shooting gun so I will give it a chance. An armorer is looking at it and hopefully will have it fixed soon.

Handed the gun to an armorer and after a month of waiting (because parts never arrived in the mail) I finally sent it to Glock, Smyrna. I enclosed a letter explaining my problem and finally got it back a week ago. The invoice didn't give much explanation on the fixes but after talking to the glock rep he mentioned new recoil spring, trigger housing, ejector, and magazine followers were all upgraded. Now the gun is shooting perfectly although I did get 1-2 brass to the head. Still 98% better than before.

Need to mention when I bought the gun new it had all the new parts.

6 weeks ago bought a gen 4 glock 23. Have shot ~ 400 rounds with gun. Ejections are with better quality ammo Gold dot still erratic. Meaning overhead. With cheaper load tulammo 180 gr fmj the bad ejects don't go over the head they hit you in the forehead, and dribble down inside glasses (thats a joy). You ever try digging out a hot round near your eye ball?

Contacted Glock they are send a new ejector tp my armorer
Tried the dave nowlin method of polishing on a stone the extractor top and bottom no effect
Did not try the extractor "shoulder reduction" - hey its a new gun.
So in summary 20% of ejections are 6:00 or where they should not be.

My theory is Dave Nowlin is on the right track, its a manufactoring flaw, when once the extractors were machined now they are made from castings and the tolerance is not tight enough. I did not to try and file further or smooth the extractor further until my ejector came in. Its been two weeks. I will let folks know if the ejector fixes the problem. Really stinks that a 600 dollar gun can't be quality checked - they must know what the issue is. I'll bet the ejector is a band-aid for the root problem - maybe on the slide or extractor as others online have suggested. It just smells. I think the new glocks have the band-aid new ejectors in place to fix the headshots

I have a previous post - the short of it. New Gen 4 Glock 23. had about 20% shot back at me at 6:00 - some would fly gracefully over my head - others would not clear and nail me between the eyes or on the head. It was not consistent. Called glock and complained they sent a new ejector to my armorer. Installed last night and shot 100 rounds just now.

.......No issues. Its fixed. Great i am a bit relieved. The new ejector has a bend in it where the other one was straight.

New ejector 28926
Old ejector 1882

Looking at the tip of the ejector its like someone twisted it slightly counter clockwise 10-15 degrees. Probably could have done it myself.

I have a G19 Gen4. I have had it for almost a year.

It has been flawless from day one. It still has the #336 ejector and the original extractor, I did replace the recoil spring when Glock sent them out, but the original was fine. Not only has this gun worked perfectly for me but also for several “girly girl” friends that have shot it.

This G19 is my everyday carry gun, not by choice but because I have been looking for a G32 Gen 4 since Glock announced them back in January (when I sold my Gen3 G32). My plan was to have a G32 Gen4 to carry and this G19 Gen4 set up the same way (Glock night sights and a smooth faced trigger, otherwise stock) as a practice gun.

I like the Gen4’s. Eventually I will get a G20 Gen4 when they come out. Someday perhaps a G35 as a fun gun as well.

Bought a Gen4 G19 FDE a month ago and have put about 500 rounds down range. No failures of any kind other than the occasional "weak ejection" where the case kind of "dribbles" out of the slide but I don't really consider it a failure unless it fails to go BOOM every time I pull the trigger. So far this one has done just that. I also have a Gen3 and can definitely tell the difference between the two, especially in the grip and recoil areas, in which the Gen4 is superior.

Gen 4 g19---- 30 % of brass to forehead
Gen 4 g26----20% of brass to forehead
Gen 4 g32----0% of brass to forehead
All guns have not had any ftf or fte.
I think maybe the stiffer dual recoil assembly on the 9mm glocks changed the ejection angle slightly from previous models. It seems that higher power calibers seem to work the springs and slide better on gen 4 models. I think once the 9mm glocks get broke in it would happen less often. I should try some +p+ in my 19 to see if the ejection angle changes a bit.

Round update since I last posted:

Gen 4 19 - Just under 2,000. A round upside the head every so often.

Gen 4 23 - Right around 5,500. Strong ejection--almost too strong as I don't get to recoup much of my brass to reload. :steamed:

Gen 4 21 - Around 3,000 rounds. Also an occasional round upside the head.

All my Gen 4s still going strong with zero failures to date. I'm not one bit concerned about the rounds to the head as just about all my other platforms do it on occasion as well (plus I'm shooting my under powered reloads.)

Update: We ran ~ 250 rounds through the 34 Gen4 this past weekend - all ejections went to the right, and our accuracy with the pistol has improved. We're happy Glockers. We assume we've finally gotten the gun broken in. :)

I have around 7,000 rounds through my G19 G4. Yes 7,000... Thats a perk of working at a gun store.

I bought mine in December, and I only had a stovepipe a few times.

So the answer is............ wait for it..........

GEN 4's ARE GOOOD TOOOO GOOOOOO

Co-worker has a G23 FDE G4 and has about 1000 rounds in it and hasn't had a problem yet of any kind what so ever.

I bought a late model gen 3 G19 and had serious erratic ejection/stovepipe issues with it. Glock eventually exchanged it with a gen 4 G19 with all current parts and it has been flawless for almost 2400 rounds now. Couldn't be happier. It is my EDC.no malfunctions of any kind.

Here's another small data point. I've been using 4.2 gr of Solo 1000 under my 124gr FMJ bullets but needed to raise the power factor a bit since this load chronos at barely 1000fps out of my Gen4 G34. So, I increased the charge weight to 4.6 gr. Not only did the groups tighten up, but ejection became more consistent. I never had any brass to the head with the lighter load, but the new load resulted in a nice small pile of brass.

I tool my new G23 Gen4 to the range last week. Using WWB .40, I had 5 FTF malfunctions out of 100 rds. I still love this pistol and it has not shaken my confidence in it...yet. I'll try other ammo and see how it does.

G26 Gen4

After some early concerns (a few FTF/FTE with Federal bulk pack 115gr)....

I now have over 1300 rounds with no problems occurring now.

Had a great range session today, shot cheapo 115gr ammo, and everything fed and ejected.

Did a detail strip today too.....everything is looking good!

Picked up a GEN 4 G17 today and went straight to the range. I added a little lube and went to work. Drills out of the holster, precision and defensive drills rounded out the day. 300 rounds of 124 gr. American Eagle FMJ, Win. USA FMJ and Fed. Hydra Shok went down the barrel. This pistol was 100% reliable and felt very soft shooting. I was surprised at how soft it felt compared to my M&P9. I'm assuming that it's the dual recoil spring? On my next trip, I'm bringing Speer GD, Fed. HST and AE FMJ.

Gen 4 Model 21

No issues at all-- runs perfectly and a great shooting pistol.

I also have 2 Gen 3 pistols, a 19 and a 26 that were both purchased in 2009. They operate perfectly as well.

I'm bothered when i read of the problems that some are having, especially when i have had zero. What i mean by that is, with the great record i have had with Glock, it no doubt is the pistol i want to recommend to friends loking for a reliable and affordable weapon. Now with the stories i read, should i feel compelled to throw out the disclaimer that some are having issues? Or do you just look at it that there are a few lemons produced in any product and say nothing?

Gen4 soft shooting compared the m&p? And I keep hearing about how soft the mp is compared to the glock? I guess felt recoil realy is a subjective thing.

Gen 4 19, new breed born with all new parts. Shoots and eats all ammo great expcept Federal 115. While it shoots them and feeds them great, it throws them all in my face. That does not occur with any other brand or weight ammo. So, I won't shoot the Federal 115 and won't have issues. Shot hundreds of rounds yesterday with no issues.

G 4 21, new breed born with all new parts. Threw about 75% of all ammo straight back with zero failures and one inch groups at 7 yards. Replaced ejector with the one designed for the 40/357 per my Glock armorer. Shoots 100% now with no back to face brass. Shot hundreds of rounds yesterday with zero issues.

Would I buy another Gen 4? Yes and I will as soon as the Gen 4 30 shows up. Sometimes new designs need tweaks. I don't get bent out of shape over it like some. I mean heck, six figure cars have recalls too.

Also let me add that they are both soft shooting. My wife shot both for hours just yesterday with zero complaints.

1. Gen4 G19, brass date 8/30/11. Bought new 11/11.

2. B. Inconsistent.
3. Two stovepipes in the first 100-150 rounds, but my buddies wife was shooting it for both, so...
Somewhere around 1800-2000 rounds so far, no issues really. I had some FTF with a non Glock 33 rounder, but that worked itself out and was a mag issue.
I do notice I get the occasional piece of brass to the head. I like to move and shoot though, so maybe I'm moving into it? Even so, it must be ejecting over my right shoulder or something. I use mainly RAM ammo (factory reloads) for the range, that may also play into it, not sure.

Regardless, it is soft shooting and accurate, and I really like it. Installed a 3.5 Glockworx connector and follow up shots are quicker and more accurate IMHO.
Really thinking about replacing my XD45 with a Gen4 21 now.

3. I love my Gen 4 G23. It has the 0-3 spring which is supposed to be traded for a 0-3-3 spring, but my gun runs fine so I am not going to get the new spring. My G23 is very soft shooting for a .40 S&W, in fact, it seems to handle recoil better than my Gen 3 G24, which is a heavier gun. I expect to shoot and enjoy my Gen 4 G23 for a very long time.

I have owned a Gen 4 Model 35, 27 and 23, which I currently own. I have shot the G23 about 350 rounds with .40 caliber ammo and about the same with 9mm through a Lone Wolf conversion barrel and KCI Korean magazines ... not a single hitch with any of these guns.

I have decided to go with just one gun from now on, since I've retired, and shoot it in IDPA matches every month or so. Guess which gun? It's a Gen 4 Model 26. I have purchased it but not picked it up yet from my FFL dealer. Within the next nine days it will be in my possession and I will switch the sights from my G23 (Heinie Slant Pro rear and Dawson fiber optic front) to the G26 and sell the .40 caliber to the highest bidder with four magazines and three holsters LNIB.

Do I have any concerns about Gen 4s? Absolutely none. Do I have any issues with 9mm? Not anymore, although I went through a spell where nothing less than a .40 caliber would satisfy my insecurities. After reading Stopping Power by Marshall and Sarnow and exchanging emails with Massad Ayoob on Glock Talk and in private I am convinced that bonded HP rounds in +P and +P+ ratings will do what I want in a self defense scenario.

My goal is to now get as good as possible in shooting, reloading and handling my one Glock with absolute confidence and accuracy in matches against the clock.

BTF from both, even with the Nato ammo, so it's not weak ammo. Otherwise, both work when trigger is pulled.
685 rnds through 26. 400 rnds though 19. Tried a Lonewolf extractor in 19 and it made ejection worse. Put factory extractor back in 19. Waiting for the Apex extractor to be released, hope that will fix them.

No, i do not conceal this one. This is my gun range/home defense gun. Its just sat in my basement, in my safe. It became pretty moist and damp in the basement during the summer months. So maybe the humidity condensation caused little rust specks. Anyway to fix that?

Few ejection to face with WWB in about 600 rnds.

No problems with faster ammo.

Ground down the trigger bar bump a tiny bit, and the slide operates smoother. Also, WWB shoots just as well as the faster ammo after modifying the trigger bar.

I've ha a gen 3 17 for a while , great gun. I just got a gen 4 26. The 26 will be my main carry gun. Shoots great, no problems at all and accuracy is as good as the 17. Just a little background here, I've been a Cowboy Action shooter for 14 years now and had to get "square" guns now that Wisconsin has concealed carry. I had little serious experience with semi autos because I was shooting lots of rounds out of my single actions. I decided on Glock because I don't want to bother with an external safety. I'm transitioning well and enjoy carrying concealed. Again, the 26 rocks.

I have five Gen 4's:

G23, G19, G26 function flawlessly

Second G19 and G21. Different stories...

G19 worked fine until about 3K rounds. Then, started spitting brass back at face. Tried different ammo, all sucked. Changed recoil spring via Glock recall. Still problems. Gun is at Glock now and they are replacing extractor and ejector.

G21 threw brass to face from jump. Sent to Glock, they tested, replaced trigger bar and ejector. Sent it back to me. Still sucked. I tried shooting aluminum case ammo, SD ammo, steel case ammo, all sucked. Gun is back at Glock. They are replacing the gun with a new pistol.

bought 9/14/2012 test fired 8/25/12. As you can see this is the latest G19 Gen 4 with all the upgraded parts. The trigger measured on my scale 5.25 lbs with the dot connector.
First 250 rounds no mis fires or jams. I am left handed so some ammo hit me on my right shoulder. I shot 4 different brands from 115 to 124 gr +P. My range is 10 meters and top of front site on target from fest were 1 to 2 inches high. Freehand all shots in 5 inch circle dead center. I have manny Sig's and S&W revolvers. This is my first glock. I don't think this gun likes to be shot from a rest or maybe its me. Freehand all all shots were in a nice round 3 to 4 inch circle rapid fire.
This is the only gun I have that hurt my finger. It was sore after 250 rounds. I never had that problem with the manny other guns I own or have owned. I am getting a G17 round faced trigger which I think will take care of the problem.

I just shot my new Gen 4 Model 26 today and it was everything I've come to expect from Glocks (especially 9s) --- reliable and accurate and pretty fair trigger. I had absolutely NO issues with the gun and was impressed by the fact that my carry ammo (Federal 115 +P+ 9BPLE) didn't shock my system with extraordinary recoil. I also put just about every one of the carry rounds through an 8" paper plate at 20 yards, shooting freehand and fairly rapid fire.

This is going to be my ONLY handgun from here on, so I am reassured that it functions just like my previous generation G26s. Even though I wish I could have taken a shortcut getting to this point, the trip has been fun and I've enjoyed shooting G34s, G35s, G22s, G17s, G27s, G19s, G23s and even a G20 along the way. But, this gun delivers everything I ever wanted in a SD gun and could also put meat on the table if needed, I have absolutely no doubt about that !!!

Have the following Gen 4's: 19, 23, and 35.
No problems whatsoever with any of them.
Have had about 15 Glocks in the last 20 years. Have not had a feeding or ejection problem with a single one.
Personally my belief is that most FTF/FTE problems are the result of weak/ineffective grip.

Gen 4 26 bought last week. 500 rounds 124 grain +p through it so far. My 12 year old son had never shot a pistol of that type before and I had him run 100 rounds through it. He used just about every weak and bad grip technique you can dream of. No malfunctions or ejection issues whatsoever. Shoots like all my other Glock models and gens.
EDIT: also, did not prep or clean this gun on purpose due to all the purported Gen 4 problems. Opened the box, took it out, and started shooting.

A. I have no problem with this handgun

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.

I've never had a SA auto yet that did not eject at least one case towards my face.

Gen4 G26. No issues/BTF with any ammo, including some UMC and WWB. I have had very little (maybe 1/100 rounds) with my Gen3 G23 that eject and land on top of my head, but not really enough to care about.

I own Gen 3--22,23 & 27--no issues with ball or hollow point ammo. Today I purchased a Gen 4 G19 and immediately ran 50 rds of WWB ball ammo with no malfunctions.

I have a gen 4 32 and have had zero issues besides the price of ammo and liking to shoot it more than my less expensive calibers.

I had issues with a Gen 3 19 and Glock swapped out for a Gen 4 in late 2011 and I have not had 1 issue since. It will eat any lead and goes bang every time. Perfect gun!

Glocks:

1 Gen 4 G19 march 2012 manuf.

1 Gen 4 FDE G17 March 2012 Manuf.

Both of these exhibited poor/erratic ejection using a variety of 115gr and 124gr FMJ ammo. The 19 intermittently started stove piping around 2k.
