It's usually pretty quiet up here in Maine, so when there is a shooting it's a pretty big deal. Apperently, two men and two women broke into an apartment in Hermon, Maine, which is right near Bangor. A male occupant shot both of the men. Officials have not released details like how many times each man was shot, or with what type of gun or caliber. Both men were taken to a hospital where one of them died. The other was treated and then arrested. The fate of the two women involved is unclear. Hopefully we will hear more details in days to follow.

That was dumb. Everybody in Maine has at least 20 guns. What were they thinking breaking in?

One guy vs 4 people and he didn't shoot the women involved. I'd like to hear the rest of the story.

Yes, there are a lot of guns in Maine households. Almost all of my friends & family have multiple-gun households. I will keep you guys posted as more details of the home invasion filter down.

Not much more info there. Who brings girls to a home invasion? I suppose it could happen...

Wouldn't be surprised if all these people knew each other rather than being a random thing.

He was arrested and charged with burglary.

How was this not robbery?

$60 bail? really?

Maybe the males were like worker bees and the queens were doing the directing. Sounds like a crank motivated issue.

Here is a link to the lastest story from the Bangor Daily News:

It seems the bad guys' car ended up with two bullet holes near the rear license plate. Doesn't sound good for the shooter!

This sounds more like a burglary where the residents happened to be home. Oops.

They were thinking they could steal 20 guns.. that's why there were 4 of them. :)

Why would it matter if there were bullet holes near a rear license plate? Unless they were in the vehicle trying to escape and unarmed, that is.

I can't imagine $60 bail for anything these days, but THIS? $60? Come on.
