let me explain what i am going to use this holster for

It will be used EXCLUSIVELY for carrying my pistol when hunting hogs after dark.

For that reason, i need it to accommodate my light along with my gun.

This will never see a defensive situation unless i get mugged while hunting.

that said, i'm looking for an affordable option that will not break or damage my weapon.

thoughts?

okay, while i appreciate the suggestions, some of these seem to miss the point of my request.

I don't need anything concealable. I will be wearing my pistol in plain sight and don't care who sees it.

i need something that is cheap as i don't see any point spending 100+ on a holster that i'll use 8-10 days a year max

Then just get a Fobus paddle holster or blackhawk serpa... Those are cheap.

I can't remeber the model number but SafariLand has a light bearing belt holster that won't break the bank.

I would recommend the Safariland too. There are not that many holsters out in the market that fir your description. Holsters with light bearing capabilities are usually at least a $50 route. As I am sure you already know you get what you pay for with most holsters. They model Safarilands you would be looking for is the 6280,6304 & the 5187. The 5187 woould be the cheapest option in their line-up

Depends a lot on where you carry. Most of the nylon shoulder rigs I see at the bargain price ($20) appear comfortable, and have the capacity to accommodate an underslung accessory. You could check this one

If it doesn't suit your needs SG has a liberal, cooperative return policy.

Check out the Glaco Halo. I have this holster for both my Glock 22 and Sig 226 with the TLR-1. I love it and the price isn't bad either.

I've seen these for cheaper than the price suggested on the Fobus website. Check around.
Good luck.

Go down to your local surplus store and pick up a nylon GI flap holster and pistol belt.

I prefer paddle holsters but sellers have belt versions as well.

+1 for Safariland. I have one for my G22 with X300. It's only for range use. Held up fine so far. It was $35 from midway with a coupon code. 5188 was the model, but the tlr1 would be 5187.
