Hey guys, quick question for ya.
I recently moved to Eugene, and while I have my ODL and am I resident, I haven't been able to get my CHL yet. So my question refers to non-CHL issues.
I was reading this PDF: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/oregon.pdf
On page 6, it talks about carry in a car/vehicle.
"Can carry a loaded firearm in your car as long as it's not concealed or not readily accessible"
I'm a tow truck driver, and I would like to be able to have my Glock with me when on impound calls at night, but I wouldn't be able to have it on me, so I would need to keep it in the truck. Can anyone give me some info as to what the quoted sentence means? If I put the gun in the overhead console(glove box) which doesnt have a lock, that would be illegal right? Am I allowed to keep it loaded, in a holster, set between the seats?
Also, I heard someone say that without a CHL, I can open carry loaded but not chambered. I've found no information to back up this statement either. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Thanks!
