What's your favorite Sig pistol of all time? If you carry a Sig,, what is it and what's it loaded with?

Mine is a early 90's production P229 no-rail chambered in .40 S&W. It's loaded with Speer Gold Dot 165 grain GDHP.

Me too! That's one fine pistol. I'm considering selling my Ed Brown to fund a X5.

The problem is, there are so many darn guns I want, I don't know which one to buy first!

That's a killer! I hate having regrets about selling a gun after the fact. A fine gun the German 228 is.

Do love my 238 though (loaded with Win. PDX1 right now).

They are neat little guns. They are too small for me though. I like a bigger gun. I seem to fumble with the small grips and can't draw them fast like a can a larger gun.

I like them all (except the polymer ones) but the only one I've owned so far is a 229 E2. My current interests for a possible purchase are a 220 Carry SAO or 228. I can't stand Sig's SRT trigger so that is really limiting my choices.

Non-railed guns (of any make) are getting so rare, unfortunately.

As long as it isn't polymer, I can be okay with all version of Sigs. I think they just fail in every way with polymer guns and there are much better alternatives to them. 4 Sigs I have left and numerous others I have owned are all metal. I got burned with 250 and 290 wasn't very good.

I like the 2340. I still think all metal when I think Sig but I must admit, they did a good job with this pistol. I wasn't able to warm up to the P250 but it's not a bad gun. The verdict is still out on the 290.

My 220 Combat is my second favorite to my 229 only because I can conceal my 229 easier. If I could find a good concealment holster for the 220 Combat (since standard holsters for the 220 won't fit) I would probably be carrying it. It's one of the most accurate guns I have ever owned.

I've heard mixed opinions about them. I have only ever fired one and I didn't have any trouble with it for the 400 rounds I put through it that day.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. They fit my hand nice to and the one I shot had a nice trigger and was pretty accurate too!

A plain black 239 in .40 S&W. Great single stack pistol! I load it with whatever decent JHP I have on hand....... I think it is primed with Hornady Critical Defense at the moment.

I had a 229R in .40 until a couple of months ago. Solid, accurate gun, I just had trouble with the weight and thickness when carrying. I traded it for a used H&K USP compact.

I like the 239. It's very thin and conceals nicely! I have yet to get one. I was surprised at how accurate it is for a smaller gun! I've had my eye on the 239 sas gen 2 in .40 since they came out with it. Maybe later this year...

I will admit that the only downfall I've found to carrying a Sig is that they are a bit on the heavy side when compared to a polymer gun.

A good trade none the less. At least you traded into a good gun for a good gun. I'm very partial to Sig's and HK's.

P220 Carry loaded with Winchester Golden Saber 230g

Have you had any reliability issues with yours? One of the gals that I shoot with carried one off duty for a while and had feeding issues with hers. I had my eye on the 220 carry for a while but after I saw what happened to her's and read the bad press about it at the time, I passed it up.

I really like the size of the 220 carry and it balances nicely. Sig supposedly worked the issue out on her gun as well as others. I'm not sure what the fix was and some guns were problematic and others were fine. I also think it was the very first ones released that had the issue? I don't trust my memory about it though. I may be wrong. It was more hit and miss from what I understand.

I'm assuming your experience with it has been positive since your carrying one? I'm assuming your carrying 230 grain all the time?

I may look into one of these yet in the future. It sure is one fine shooting gun though!

Not to mention great looking and accurate! (It's a Sig after all! I wouldn't expect anything less!)

Went from a Bersa .380 CC (too big) to a P3AT (good gun, but not real fun to shoot) to the P238 (a blast to shoot, real sights, and very accurate). All were 100% reliable with both ball and JHP. Now that I'm not in retail any more, I only carry the 238 as a BUG sometimes. My 92FS has always been my main carry gun.

Very much looking forward to the P938, hopefully it will still be small enough for pocket carry.

When deep concealment is needed it's darn near impossible to beat those little pocket guns! I'm watching the P938 as well as waiting for the DA/SA version of the 224. I'm with you on the 92FS.

One fine gun right there! (Good choice!)

I've had a few. One of my favs is/was a P6, my first.

But while I like my P229 in 40/357 SIG my all time fav goes to my P228. I have a W.German and US made. Both are great. The best all around SIG, IMHO.

Th P6 is sweet! I had a chance to buy one about 6 months ago. I kick myself now for not taking the seller up on the offer.

I'm glad to see there is so much love for the 228 here! I need to add one to the collection some day. Along with all the other guns I have on my ever growing list!

Gun buying is a sickness! I'm glad to be afflicted! Most ladies buy shoes, I buy guns!

EFK Firedragon 5". It's labeled as a "226 357C" which I assume means compensated, I believe I talked them out of it before they could disect it.

I thought so. I have to get a .357 barrel for my 226. I'm really starting to like what I see with the ballistics of this cartridge. A 125 grain bullet has to scream out of that barrel!

Have you had a chance to chrono anything with that barrel?

Thanks. My 220 carry has chewed up every type of ammo I've given it. Usually does night stand duty with win ranger-T 230 +P in it. I find it to be more balanced than the full sized 220. Super accurate as well.

Unfortunately, I sold the glocks. I kind of regret it now...:crying:...but, I got a p2000sk .40, pps 9mm, and ppq out of it...

I hate having regrets about selling a gun! I'm getting rid of my Wasr 10 AK. I don't really like the gun but still don't want to part with it.

I'm glad to hear about your 220 carry. How's the +P ammo handle in it? I know how standard pressure 230 fires out of it. It's pretty tame to me.

The 225's a great gun. I passed one up about a 6 months ago. I could kick myself. How do you like the trigger on yours?

The ones I've handled all had a little bit of a gritty trigger and seemed a little heavier that most other Sig's I've handled and fired. Overall though, it wasn't that bad.

I've got 3 Sigs and I love them each in different ways.

1. Sig 290 it's my EDC gun that I really love. It's the least expensive of the 3 but the one I use the most by far. It like all my guns is loaded with Corbon DPX's +p 115 grain pure copper bad boys!

2. Sig GSR 1911 stainless 45 is the best 1911 dollar for dollar I have ever fired. It's a real tack drive with no mim parts that should be priced higher than it is. It's loaded with 185 +p grain Corbon DPX's that are ruthless out of the 45!

3. Sig Bi-tone 229 9pm E2. I just got it at Xmas so I haven't had time to fall in love with it just yet but I really like this gun. I just need a CB Supertuck to fit it so that it can share time with my Glock 19. It's loaded with my beloved +p 115 grain Corbon DPX's. There is no substitute for copper when bullets are concerned!

Have you had any reliability issues with yours? One of the gals that I shoot with carried one off duty for a while and had feeding issues with hers. I had my eye on the 220 carry for a while but after I saw what happened to her's and read the bad press about it at the time, I passed it up.

You lucky dog! I've always wanted one! DO you have a lot of rounds through it? How's the trigger?

I haven't shot mine in years, but it probably had at least a couple thousand rounds through it before I put it away.

The trigger is typical old SIG: smooth, breaks cleanly but with lots of takeup and long reset.

I bought it used and the previous owner put a set of wooden grips which were ill fitted and moved just enough under recoil to induce trigger pull malfunction. A set of Trijicon tritium sights whose rear sight was loosely fitted.

I bought the factory plastic grip panels and switched out the sights for factory sights.

The trigger on mine is fantastic. Very smooth and I love the DA/SA on it. The P6 however, is much heavier of a trigger pull. Make sure you know which one you are handling. There is a difference. A P6 can be modified to have a comparable trigger pull. As far as the grittiness, that can be solved either way.

I can only guess that it's for the same reason I carry mine that way. I carry them over my left rear pocket and because I am not a skinny guy, they push a little into my flabby back. When they are turned like that it doesn't poke my back as much. And, also, the Triple Threat mag holster doesn't hold the mags in place as tightly as it should except when they are turned in. I believe it's because the screw tightens only in the center.

That's my vote, too. I can't even remember how many people have tried to buy my West German P226 (bought back in 1988) after shooting it.

Those old P226's demonstrate how a DA/SA action is really supposed to work. I've had two P239's, a P220, a P228, and a P229, all American made, and while good, they are just not the same as the ones made in Germany (kind of like the difference in an Italian built and an American builty 92F).

In some countries, guns are still considered art.

I have only had it for about a month and fired it twice (about 200 rounds). My son enjoyed the heck out of shooting it last week and didn't want to shoot any of the other pistols we brought with the exception of the 9mm Springer EMP.
