Nice to see SIG continue to back their namesake cartridge!

Does anyone know the length of the barrel?

Does anyone know the length of the barrel?

3.5". Pretty good considering the 229 is only 3.9".

It's a big heavy (hey, it's a Sig).

It could be a nice carry gun. I like that it takes newer 229 mags and Sig will even make a sleeve. That would turn it into basically a lighter 229, which is what I've always wanted. I think I'm talking myself into getting one of these!

When is the release date for the 224? I read "around April" for the DAK. I probably wouldn't be interested in the DA/SA since I don't like the SRT.

I'll be interested in seeing comparison pics with a P239. The P224 is lighter and holds more rounds. The 239 is probably a tad thinner but not by much. .1" according to the specs.

I want the Equinox:

I hope there are enough in DAK to go around. I like it a lot better than G26,27 & 33, but it will cost more (>1,000). I had a 229 in 357sig, but I had a hard time with the DA/SA when I was carrying mostly Glocks.

SIGs are real eye catchers.

I've carried them on duty and off.

Problem is that I had a P226 decock lever hang up in my clothing once, so I
would really only buy the DAK or DA in any SIG.

The P224 should sell well to people who already own one of each SIG classic model.

Most new shooters will probably opt for the dirt cheap P250 series with the DAK.

One gun that's interesting is the P290 with the slide release way forward than the
traditional SIG pistols. A feathery 20 ounces unloaded as well.

However, most of these new SIGs are very unproven in comparison to say a
like sized Baby Glock in 9/40/or even .357.
