GTer's: I value your collective opinions and experience. Iím looking for a concealable Kydex OWB holster to carry Glock 19 and 26. I prefer a straight drop carry for my firearm in the 3-3:30 position.
I'd appreciate actual personal experience. Firearm stability (another words, I don't want the pistol to become dislodged from the holster) and concealment are my primary concerns.

Thanks!

I have this too, but will never use it. If you want retention, this is the one! In my experience it is impossible to draw single handed and still takes significant effort with two hands. I got it because it is so low risk due to the price. Give it a try if you like. As far as concealability it is probably as good as any of the expensive kydex options. Based on all the horror stories about b0t@ch tactical, i would order elsewhere. I got mine from opticsplanet.

I will be ordering a raven phantom very soon. the wait times are horrendous but the reviews are pretty damn good.

Blade-Tech SRB (Sting Ray Belt) holster. I have two: one for my G34 and one for my Sig P226R. The G34 is for range and I carry the P226. I bought the holster for the P226 to use while I was waiting several months for my Milt Sparks leather. If you like Kydex, it is suitable for EDC and it is IDPA approved.

The holster has several very functional adjustments: (a) Cant can be adjusted for straight drop or "FBI" cant. (b) Belt loop is adjustable for different size belts. (c) Tension adjustment screw.

Unlike a lot of the other Kydex, it is meant to carry close to the body, rather than a competition style standoff. Besides Blade-Tech directly, check around because some suppliers discount.

For a simple holster, which I use for IDPA sometimes, the standard kydex belt holster from Comptac is good.

We have not had this problem with my GSC holster, or the wife's. I have heard others with this issue. Some have fixed it with silicone spray, while others have used the .45/10mm version for 9mm/.40/357 pistols.

How about the Blackhawk Serpa paddle holster. I have one for my G19 and i love it. My personal opinion with OWB holster though is you always need to wear a cover garment and on hot days I think one shirt is enough.

I've put a loaded pistol in the GSC holster, while not on a belt and turned it upside down and shook it without the gun falling. While wearing, I have jumped, shook and run without the gun falling.

I have on ethat I use w/o the paddle and put it straight on the belt.
I have a hard time concealing this one on my 5'8" / 165lb frame, because it sets so far off to the side.
It is a good holster and I like the retention button.

+1. This setup is hard to beat. Retention is excellent and I've never had a difficult time with the draw, however wiping the interior with some armor-all or similar slicks things up just fine. The Glock holster is the most concealable OWB holster I have found, even more so than the Raven, which are outstanding holsters (I use Ravens in the winter for my G26s and a light compatible Raven neutral with cut body shield option for my G17 with X300). The only thing I don't like about the Glock holster is that it is open ended, while the Ravens are more closed - I just have to be more careful taking keys and such out of my pockets as I carry just fore of the hips on both sides. The Glock mag pouches are outstanding as well and for all the same reasons.

I have an OWB (in addition to a couple of IWB's) for my G26 from coachg whose ads you can find in the classifieds.

Excellent retention and quality, simple and lightweight, and low cost in comparison to others. Quick turnaround as well as top-notch service.

It conceals as well as any other OWB holster I have.

The regular sized Glocks fit in the large sized Glock Sport Combat Holster and they are easier to draw. As long as you are not rappelling upside down the retention is good.

TCB firearms makes a nice, tight, kydex holster that carries well OWB and rides relatively high. I bought the IWB clips, and carry my glock 26 in it. The customer service is also great.

As I mentioned, the Blade-Tech has a tension screw adjustment. You select the retention level desired. Obviously, a super tight retention is going to give a wickedly tough draw. Your choice.

Blackhawk Serpa, can be easily adjusted for crossdraw too.
They are sturdy but I have a problem with using the trigger finger for the release or at least with a striker fired gun. I also can't conceal very easily as I have to have the gun close to my body. I even run the belt backwards through a holster to get it extra close.

I don't have any heat problems with the holsters I wear. I keep the paddle between my pants and underwear. That seems to keep it from forming a hot spot.

My IWB EDC is a Galco Tuck-N-Go, a nice leather holster that I wear somewhere between 2:00 and 4:30. It hits my love handles close enough to make the grip (Talon rubber) of the gun hot on some days. I just pull my undies up a little and that works most of the time. I bought a piece of shoe sole leather from a small repair shop near by. I plan to cut it to size and take it back to be sewn on some day. I got the sole piece because it is thick and will stay stiff enough to not fold or bend.

This one works very well, http://www.opticsplanet.net/safariland-5188-paddle-holster-for-pistols-stx-plain-black-right-hand-5188-283-411.html. It carries high and close to the body. It has good retention and the last three I ordered, came with a belt slide attachment also. I personally like the paddle, so I don't install the belt slide. Another plus is that it has a very large sight track, which allows you to use the tall sights, such as Warren or Heinie, without any contact with the holster. I like this feature because I dont like any shiny wear spots on my front sight. I wear one just about everyday.

+1 I have a Serpa and it works very well. Good retention and not too bad for concealment.

There have been some reports of the latch mechanism becoming jammed with rocks, dirt, snow, etc. I'm not sure if it's internet hype or an actual issue - but it's something you should know about going into this if you are considering the Serpa.

I have done some training with the Serpa - including on the ground, but haven't had any problems with mine.

It's not hype. I've seen it happen on more than one occasion, one having to have the holster ripped apart to get the pistol out. Serpa discussions usually decompose into irrational emotional diatribes though, so I'll leave it at that. Garbage! :whistling:

Another +1 for Raven.

check the classifieds for casino customs. he makes kydex holsters. i just got mine a few days ago and it is my "go to" holster now for decent concealment and maximum comfort. if i need deep concealment, i go with my CBST or Remora.

The Casino Customs kydex holster the the best OWB i have. it tucks very close to your body and is higher quality than i expected. i think i could run this thing over with my truck if i wanted to.
this is mine which is "slide cut" to fit my 23 and 27.

*edit to add that turnaround time was incredible. from the day i made my payment to the time it was in my mailbox was exactly 7 days and that included the 1 day delay because of Presidents Day. i think Raven Concealment has a 5-7 week turnaround time right now....screw that. Casino Customs ftw.

I just got a quickship raven in this week for my g19/26s. Took about a month. Very high quality and fits snug enough that its a wrestling match to get it in my Ares belt. It rides high but not quite tight enough at the rear sight to keep from printing. My little spare tire may contribute. So they're nice bit not some piece of magic that makes owb carry just disappear on anyone. I just ordered the pancake wings with the hope of drawing it tighter. Will report how that works when they come in.

+1 for the Safariland ALS. The paddle is very secure, and has a hook in the paddle opening that fits over the bottom of your belt, so the paddle is "locked" into place. You can also unscrew the paddle and put on a belt slide if you want. The ALS locks the gun in place, but is very easy to draw by pressing a small spring loaded lever with your thumb while drawing. The placement of the lever is where your thumb sits normally during the draw, so it's a very intuitive motion that is easy to learn and repeat.

I carry 100% of the time when I leave my front door, this is what I carry my G19 with.

I love the look of that holster.
I have owned Fist holsters before, and love them.
Does yours have a slide shield/body protector?
I never wear undershirts, and don't like to sweat a gun up!

Mine doesn't have one. I typically wear an undershirt, but on their options and alterations page (http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/opalt/Default.htm), they say they'll add one for $10

Love the Sport/Combat holster. Well worth the money and I think the retention is perfect. I had the GL26 Fobus paddle holster and my gun got stuck in it because the retention was so tight. The SCH is perfect.

+1 for X-Concealment. Been carrying a G27 in a 'C' type for about 7 months. Great holster!

+ 2 for the X-Concealment. I have the new version and so far it's great. Had it for about 2 weeks now.

+1 for the Glock sport combat. i use mine a lot. Just be certain you get the right size (comes in 2 sizes) You can adjust it with a pair of scissors if you need room for an extended mag release. Inexpensive, good retention and good draw. Looks like s***

That's the party line according to Raven. It probably won't take that long. I'm in no hurry since I have another carry system.

I'm happy with my NTAC. Same thing as the raven but shorter wait times.
Me, my gun & the weather make OWB carry to much for me but IWB it's great.

YUP, check out the picture I just added to my previous post.
Don't pass up the Garrett industries holster tho. It is MUCH more expensive than the Glock holster but VERY nice.

I would just assume use my Glock Sport/Combat holster all the time, but I discovered the Safariland ALS because it was given to me to Demo. I never dreamed how perfect it was. The Safariland is everything the Black Hawk Serpa should be (speed, comfort, concealable, retention)

I just wore my Glock 19 in a new OWB X-Concealment holster for 13 hours yesterday, sitting in church, driving for 80 minutes, visiting an elder care home, etc. It concealed my Glock under a loose sweater or jacket with no problem. Rentention was great. Compared to many other holsters I've worn (including customer-made leather) this holster is lighter, more comfortable, and conceals that Glock-block profile nicely.

Oddly enough I have to agree with your post. Ive been wearing my new X-Concealment holster for the past week all day in house and out and it's felt great. Coming from a custom leather holster I'm pleasantly surprised.

Last week I ordered the newly released Generation 2 "C" Series Compact OWB from http://www.flccw.com/X-Concealment/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66&products_id=190

It was shipped out 2 days ago and I should have it today or tomorrow but I think it might fit what you are looking for.

Check out www.olenholster.com I use one of these OWB holsters daily and easily conceal a G17 or G19.
I've compared them to Raven and fit and finish seems just as good at about half the price and less than a week wait to ship. I really like it and love the pancake front loop and regular belt loop on the back of the Olen Holster. It rides high and tight and conceals with just a light shirt.

Just got an X-Concealment OWB with the attached pancake wings for my Gen 4 Glock 26. It is by far the highest and tightest riding holster I have ever used. I am a big guy, 6' 250 lbs and I can easily conceal under a loose fitting T-shirt. This rig beats out my Raven with the pancake wings and it takes up much less room on my belt. I highly recommend X-Concealment.

I like two. The X-Concealment model C and the CXP made by ArmedCivilian556 on YouTube. The one made by AC is the tightest fitting kydex holster I've ever worn. The way he makes the holster it flexes & snugs in tight.

There is a gaggle of options here. I went with the Aholster OWB (http://shop.aholster.com/product.sc;jsessionid=97407A7AC2648D7D6B97CBDFA6FC0705.m1plqscsfapp04?productId=3&categoryId=1) because my CCW instructor used it and it looked good. Having used it for a while now I don't have anything bad to say. It conceals well and it's easy to forget you're wearing it, very comfortable.

For concealment and retention http://gamefaceholsters.com made in NH.

I know of a certain very fussy federal agency who bought from them because they were able to satisfy their tough friction retention requirements.
