Ive been saving my nickels and resisting buying other toys, now I want a 6920 and I can't find the $1,000 ones anywhere. Where the heck did they go? Anyone got a link?

You might find one at G&R tactical if they aren't out of stock. They are under $1000 if he has one.

I would recommend grabbing one as soon as you can. It goes without saying that the surplus of firearms is drying up.... fast. Prices will follow I'm sure.

I surrendered and went with Daniel Defense XV EZ M4 from Gunbroker. I don't think I'm giving up anything with DD.

You aren't giving up anything with the DD. Nice guns. :)

Yeah, but I really want to try out a Colt. Even non-gunners know Colt.

You're worried about what non-gunners think of your AR? You could get a DPMS and tell them that specops ninjaz use it for all they know.

Clyde Armory has 6920s for $1100. I'd pay that if you really want one, it will be a while before these get back in stock again, a combination of everyone getting their tax rebates and buying toys, and the 2012 election involving the same guy as last time :crying:

Of course not... I have five AR's - none currently say Colt on it. As stated, I simply want to try one.

I will check Clyde's. Thanks.

You could probably get a Magpul version for $1100. I don't care for the MOE handguards, but IMO its no worse than the factory M4 handguards. I'm not crazy about the plastic BUS either, but the MOE grip and stock aren't bad.

Ratworx has them for $1060

I have an LE6920 and will probably pick up one of these up soon if my regular shop still has one in stock.

I wish my Walmart would carry the SP6920s... they don't even sell guns anymore.

Have some patience. Order one from one of the two sources mentioned. They come in and out of stock fairly quick.

I recently picked up a Colt LE6920, but it cost me $1,100 and change. They discontinued the "LE" and went to "SP" and that sent the prices for the older LEs up... Instead of the LAW ENFORCEMENT/MILITARY designation, the new ones said SPORTER. Then I heard Colt was bringing back the "LE" version again. Not sure if the newest version will retain the LE/MILITARY roll mark though. Good luck in your search. It wasn't easy to find one, and certainly not one for $900.

Bud's Police Supply has the SP6920 for $973, the LE6920 is out of stock, but they are the same except for the markings. Not sure what is required to purchase from the police supply section of Bud's, but it is worth a look.

They have Colt ARs (as well as Sig & Bushmaster) in SE Texas Wal-Marts. I am surprised they would not in your neck of Texas. :dunno:

It's election year. The price is only going to go up. Try and fine one soon in order to beat the mad rush later this year.

This is the best deal I've found - $1,181 for the Magpul SP6920. That's not completely out of the ballpark, but it's close.

The last 20 or so LE6920 that I sold looked like they were built from spare parts. Every part was a shade or two darker or lighter than the part attached to it.

All of the SP6920 so far have been beautiful.

Supply of those LE lowers dried up surprisingly fast.

Probably many were just remakes of spare ones laying around with the LE rollmark.

I realize I am possibly going to have rocks thrown at me in this thread (happens whenever I mention it) by the "online operators" but the LE rollmark will be worth some serious coin vs. the SP rollmark a few years down the road so long as Colt continues to keep it's LE division separate from the Civilian one.

Is the LE rollmark really going away? Go look at my Walmart thread. A GTer purchased one from Walmart and it has the LE rollmark. Not throwing rocks at ya....just didn't expect that rifle with either rollmark to show up at Walmart! :dunno:
