I am planning to load Berry's 124gr HP using WSF. I know to use upper lead to mid range jacketed load data. Using the Lee Auto Disk, as most know, it is hard to do minor adjustments to the throw.
I can get 4.8 gr of WSF on a consistant basis. I just worry that this is too high. OAL I will set at max to work in my barrel by doing gravity test.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Matt

I would think that load should be fine, it's a high lead and low fmj load.

That being said, Lee does make an adjustable powder measure that replaces the Disk in the Lee measure.

It can be erratic with very light charges of powder of less than 3grs. or so, but should work fine for 4grs. and up of WSF.

You can check here if you haven't already for WSF loads: http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

Remember it is alway's best to start low and work up slowly checking for pressure signs.

9mm data is usually set for an OAL of 1.169. Most HP feed better shorter than that, around 1.10-1.12 OAL. Adjust your powder charge accordingly. When you're dealing with something like Berry's, lead is low and jacketed is high. Start conservative at your given OAL and use lead and work up. Say, 5 rounds each charge to test for pressure sign. This is where the manual powder measure comes in handy. I'd leave the press mounted PM for when you have your load dialed in and you're loading for volume. For working up a load, use a manual dispensing PM.

I use MG CMJ 124gr and 4.8gr of WSF seated to 1.145" with great success.

I thought Berry's recommended loading at FMJ (in your case JHP) data? I think 4.8gr for JHP in 124gr 9mm is a reasonable starting point, as long as you keep your OAL reasonable (long).
